I invite you to find a comfortable and quiet place.
The best way to practice the following breath awareness meditation is by lying on your back in your bed or on the floor on your yoga mat.
But if it's more comfortable for you,
Feel free to sit on a chair or on a sofa with support for your back.
Take your time to find a position where you can fully rest and relax for a few minutes.
Gently place your left hand on your chest over your heart and your right hand on your belly.
Feel the weight of your hands,
Feel their loving touch and the safety they bring.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through the nose,
Hold it for a moment and then slowly exhale through your nose.
Continue with long deep breathing through the nose,
Inhale and exhale completely.
You may notice the sensation of the air moving in and out of your body.
The breath is always with you,
It gives you life,
It gives you energy and it keeps you going even during the most challenging times.
You can always count on your breath.
With every inhale,
Imagine breathing in a beautiful warm light that fills you with calm and peace.
It fills every cell of your body with new energy.
With each exhale,
Imagine how all the negative feelings that no longer serve you leave your body and mind.
Acknowledge them and consciously let them go one by one.
With every inhale,
Fill the space they left behind with new joyful energy.
Allow yourself to sink deeper into the present moment with each breath.
Let go of any thoughts or distractions and simply focus on the beautiful rhythm of your breath.
Breathe in peace and calm and breathe out tension and stress.
With each inhale and exhale,
Feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed and at peace.
Take a deep breath in,
Hold it in for a moment and then slowly exhale.
Take another big inhale and gently breathe out through the mouth.
Take a last big inhale,
Hold it for a few seconds and exhale completely.
Take a few moments to return to your normal breathing pattern.
Take some time to notice how you feel,
What has changed.
Thank yourself for taking this time to focus on your needs.
Cherish this peace you created by using your breath and remember that this simple but powerful tool is always here for you if you need a moment of calm.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Welcome back.
