Let's get ready for yoga nidra.
Lie down on your back on the floor and adopt the shavasana pose,
The dead man's pose also known as the corpse pose.
In this position the body should be straight from head to toe,
The legs slightly apart,
The arms a little away from the body,
The palms of the hands turned upwards.
If you are practicing yoga nidra sitting down,
Have your hands on your knees with your palms facing upward and keep your back upright.
If you need to make any adjustments,
Your clothes,
Your body,
Your position,
Do that now.
Make sure you're completely comfortable as during yoga nidra there should be no physical movement.
Close your eyes and keep them closed until I tell you to open them.
Take a deep breath in and as you breathe out feel the cares and worries of the day flow out of you.
In yoga nidra we are functioning on the levels of hearing and awareness and the only important thing for you is to follow my voice.
Don't try to intellectualize or analyze the instructions.
Simply follow with total attention,
With complete feeling.
If thoughts come,
Don't worry,
Simply continue the practice.
Allow yourself to become calm and steady,
Calm and steady and bring about a feeling of inner relaxation in the whole body.
Concentrate on the body and become aware of the importance of complete stillness.
Become aware of the body from the top of the head to the tips of the toes and mentally repeat the mantra of complete stillness,
Complete awareness of the whole body.
Once again awareness of the whole body.
Become aware that you are going to practice yoga nidra.
Say mentally to yourself,
I am aware,
I am going to practice yoga nidra.
The practice of yoga nidra now begins.
This is the moment you make your dissolve,
Your intention,
Your sankalpa.
Repeat your dissolve three times with complete feeling and complete awareness.
The dissolve that you make during yoga nidra is bound to come true in your life.
We now begin rotation of consciousness.
Awareness by taking a trip to the different parts of the body.
As quickly as possible awareness will move from one part to the other.
As I name the part,
Repeat the part in your mind and simultaneously become aware of that part of the body.
We begin with the right side.

The whole body together,
Total awareness,
No sleeping,
No movement,
The whole body on the surface that it is practicing yoga nidra on,
See a body lying perfectly still,
Visualize this image in your mind,
Become aware of your breath,
Awareness without concentration,
Feel the flow of your breath in and out of your lungs,
Don't change the rhythm,
The breathing is natural,
Automatic,
You are not doing it,
There is no effort,
Complete awareness of your breath,
Now concentrate your awareness on the movement of your navel area,
Concentrate on your navel movements,
With each breath,
Your navel is rising and falling slightly,
With each breath,
It expands and contracts,
Concentrate on this movement in synchronization with your breath,
And stop your counting and leave your breathing,
We now come to visualization,
A number of different things will be named and you should try to develop a vision for them on all levels,
Feeling,
Awareness,
Emotion,
Imagination,
Develop this vision as best as you can,
Burning candle,
Burning candle,
Burning candle,
Endless desert,
Endless desert,
Endless desert,
Egyptian Pyramid,
Egyptian Pyramid,
Egyptian Pyramid,
Torrential rain,
Torrential rain,
Torrential rain,
Snow-capped mountains,
Snow-capped mountains,
Snow-capped mountains,
Greek Temple at Sunrise,
Greek Temple at Sunrise,
Greek Temple at Sunrise,
Coffin beside a grave,
Coffin beside a grave,
Coffin beside a grave,
Birds flying across a sunset,
Birds flying across a sunset,
Birds flying across a sunset,
Red clouds drifting,
Red clouds drifting,
Red clouds drifting,
A cross above a church,
A cross above a church,
A cross above a church,
Stars at night,
Stars at night,
Stars at night,
Full moon,
Full moon,
Full moon,
Smiling Buddha,
Smiling Buddha,
Smiling Buddha,
Wind from the sea,
Wind from the sea,
Wind from the sea,
Waves breaking on a deserted beach,
Waves breaking on a deserted beach,
Waves breaking on a deserted beach,
Eternal restless sea,
Eternal restless sea,
Eternal restless sea,
Waves breaking on a deserted beach,
Now allow your awareness to drift inward,
Inward as if you are stepping away from the noise of the world and into the quiet sanctuary of your inner self,
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a forest,
The air is fresh,
Tinged with the scent of earth and leaves,
There's a gentle breeze,
Warm and alive,
And ahead of you a path,
Soft,
Golden,
Familiar,
Invites you forward,
With each step feel yourself letting go,
Letting go of roles,
Letting go of expectations,
Letting go of masks,
You're walking toward a place where you can be only you,
As you move deeper into the forest,
You notice a soft glowing light filtering through the trees,
It leads you to a small open clearing,
In the centre a still,
Pristine lake,
This is the lake of satya,
The lake of truth,
Walk slowly toward the water's edge,
As you kneel down and gaze into the surface,
The reflection you see is not just your face,
But your essence,
Who you are beneath all labels,
All stories,
Just pure,
Honest being,
Now the lake begins to shimmer,
And in its reflection you begin to see moments from your life,
Moments where you lived in alignment with your truth,
Feel those moments come alive,
A time when you said no even though it was hard,
A time when you told someone how you dearly felt with compassion,
A time when you chose your inner knowing over outside approval,
Feel the warmth of integrity flowing through your chest,
This is your inner light,
The vibration of living truthfully,
And now the scene shifts,
The water reveals a moment where you held back your truth,
Where fear or doubt or habit made you hide,
No judgment,
Simply noticing,
Simply observing,
Observe it gently,
What was the truth underneath the silence,
Can you offer yourself compassion for that moment,
As you breathe into this,
Feel the lake beginning to glow brighter,
Not because you are perfect,
But because you are honest now,
Present,
Real,
Become aware of your heart chakra,
And silently repeat,
My truth is safe with me,
Each breath brings me closer to alignment,
I live with honesty,
Guided by compassion,
Let these words ripple across the water,
Let them settle deep into your being,
Like seeds planted in soil ready to grow,
Now imagine the lake fading gently into light,
The forest softening around you,
And the path calling you back gently,
Bringing with you clarity,
Courage,
And the peace of your truth,
Now is the time to repeat your resolve,
Your sankalpa,
Your intention,
Repeat the same resolve that you made at the beginning of the practice,
Do not change it,
Repeat the resolve three times,
With complete feeling and awareness,
And relax all efforts,
Draw your mind outside,
Become aware of your breathing,
Become aware of your natural breath,
Become aware of the whole body and your breath,
Your body completely relaxed,
You are breathing quietly and slowly,
Become aware of your body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes,
And say mentally in your mind,
Become aware of the flow,
The position of your body,
Visualize the area you are practicing yoga nidra in,
Become aware of your surroundings,
Start moving your body,
Stretching yourself,
And when you are sure that you are wide awake,
If you are in shavasana,
Sit up slowly,
And you can open your eyes,
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete,
