Hi and welcome to this guided meditation.
My name is Leslie and I will be a guide to these moments of relaxation.
To start the meditation move into a comfortable position.
This can be either sitting or sleeping.
If sitting on the floor you can sit cross-legged.
If using a chair,
Sit with your feet flat on the ground.
Keep your back upright.
Keep your knees facing outward and head slightly tilted upward.
If sleeping,
Sleep flat on your back without a pillow.
Arms to your sides facing upwards.
Keep your eyes closed with a gentle focus between your eye blows.
So let's focus on our breathing and start taking deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose and let the air fill your lungs and then breathe out through your nose.
As we go through this meditation we will keep taking these deep relaxing breaths and if you find yourself lost then bring back your focus to my voice and keep taking deep relaxing breaths.
This meditation is focused on fear in the mind.
What is fear?
Why does fear arise?
How can we deal with fear in the mind?
Fear comes in many forms.
Sometimes it's just an uneasy feeling.
Sometimes it's unnecessarily worthy or anxiety.
Sometimes it shows us nervousness.
Sometimes as tension or just a feeling of dread.
It can also be present due to fear of loss,
Fear of failure,
Fear of being hurt.
Fear in the mind is separate from any immediate danger.
The fear of the mind is always about something that may happen.
It is never about something that is happening right now.
So how can we deal with such fear?
If such fear is happening due to something in the present moment then we can deal with this fear.
But how can we deal with the fear of something that may or may not happen in the future?
The truth is that this fear is only in the mind.
This fear is being fueled by the incessant thoughts we are having at the current moment.
This fear is based on friction and is not based on the reality of the current moment.
And to be free of this fear we need to realize that we cannot predict the future.
We need to be aware that the thoughts we are having are not real.
We need to understand that they are based on future events that may or may not happen.
Our thoughts are never based on what will happen as this is something we really cannot know.
Be aware that this kind of fear is based on friction.
It is not based on any facts.
And with this knowledge free your mind from these incessant thoughts.
These thoughts that unnecessarily cause you worry and anxiety and strive to live your life without this burden of unnecessary fear.
Thank you for your time.
