Welcome to this guided meditation that helps to release and relax in times of stress.

The intention of this meditation is to help you release stress and transition into a more restful and peaceful state of being.

It will guide you through the different phases of the relaxation process and teach you how to find your own path into calmness and serenity.

Finding rest and relaxation is a process which takes time.

It doesn't happen instantly.

It takes time to release tension,

To unwind,

To process and digest all the different impulses and experiences you encountered and received.

It takes time to transition into relaxation.

Give yourself that time.

First,

Let's take a few moments to settle in.

Make sure you create a cozy meditation nest for yourself.

Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed or distracted.

Make sure you have what you need to feel comfortable and safe.

Just like a cat or dog might stretch first before curling into sleep,

Allow yourself to do the same.

Maybe you feel like stretching or yawning a bit.

Let your body tell you what would feel good right now.

Let it find its own most comfortable position to be in during this meditation.

Start by giving yourself permission to not do anything.

This time is exclusively for you.

Time to unwind,

Rest and heal.

Let's savor a couple of deep breaths to start the relaxation process.

Each inhalation brings a little bit of calm to your body.

With every exhalation,

A little bit of tension gets released.

Breathe in to the sensations of fatigue and tiredness.

It is okay.

You can rest now.

Just as how the body-mind system knows how to activate itself in times of danger or stress,

It also knows how to calm itself in times of safety and rest.

All of us are born with this natural instinct,

This innate capability.

Trust this natural rhythm of action and inaction.

It's like a pendulum swinging back and forth.

You are on your way from stress or anxiety towards rest and relaxation.

We are never 100% stressed out,

Nor are we ever 100% relaxed.

We are always somewhere on the spectrum in between,

Swinging back and forth.

Right now,

You are well on your way towards a more relaxed state of being.

Trust the process.

Let nature run its course and allow the process of relaxing to unfold naturally.

Relaxing is not always pleasant.

It can be uncomfortable,

Uneasy,

Even painful.

We might feel like we are missing something,

Similar to feeling bored or even somber.

Sometimes worrying thoughts come up about things that happened or still need to be done.

Sometimes feelings or emotions arise that move us or throw us off.

Sometimes the body literally aches or becomes restless,

Like when your muscles twitch,

Ache or cramp after a workout.

All these things are a natural part of the relaxation process.

Your system is restoring itself,

Healing itself.

It is unwinding.

It is releasing tension.

Don't fight it.

Don't try to control it.

Trust your inner ability to heal.

Trust your natural instinct.

All you have to do is breathe through it.

Let your body-mind-system ache.

Let it twitch.

Let it heal.

Don't judge.

Don't analyze.

Don't try to control.

Just breathe through it.

Allow it all to happen so you can find your own way into relaxation.

Let the process unfold.

You are transforming into relaxation.

It is happening,

Effortlessly,

Naturally.

Visualize yourself drifting further and further away,

While you serve the waves of uncomfortable feelings and thoughts,

Letting them pass by underneath you,

While you flow deeper into the sea of endless relaxation,

Bathing in it,

Soaking in its healing energy,

Absorbing restfulness in every part of you that is aching,

In every place that is longing for healing.

Enjoy a couple more easy breaths while you bathe in this wonderfully relaxed state,

This peaceful,

Serene,

Quiet state of awareness.

You can let go now.

You can relax.

You are safe.

You have done enough.

You are enough.

You can rest.

Release the tension.

Let it all go.

Relax.

We are now going to make the transition out of this meditation back to a slightly more active state of consciousness.

If it feels right,

Start by bringing both your hands to your heart and hold them there for a moment.

This is a great way of giving yourself a hug.

If you like,

You can thank yourself for making time for yourself to relax.

When you are ready,

Gently open your eyes and take some time to adjust to the world of vision.

Reconnect to the space around you,

And when it feels right,

Slowly come out of this meditation while you remember your presence within.
