This meditation is designed to allow us to harness the power of the mind to overcome depressive and anxiety thoughts. It is a guided imagery meditation that focuses on the power we have to change the way we think. When we change the perspective of our thoughts. Anxiety or depression thoughts just become thoughts. Following a Tantra philosophy that we are either controlled by our conscious mind or we relax into subconscious thought and control it all. Enjoy.

Thank you for joining me today.

My name is Lela Becker.

I'm a traditional Tantra meditation teacher and a personal freedom coach at Make A Change.

Coach.

Today's meditation we're going to be talking about depressive and anxiety ridden feelings and thoughts.

This meditation is designed to help you cultivate tools to draw strength that we all have to change the way we think.

Realizing that thoughts can just be thoughts and then float away.

A little warning if you do not find water relaxing then I would not recommend taking this session as we will be using water in the imagery of this meditation.

So let's begin.

Find a comfortable seat.

Gently close your eyes.

Take a big yawn opening your mouth wide and relaxing your jaw as you close.

Drop your shoulders away from your ears.

Take a nice inhale through your nose so that you can activate your central nervous system.

As you exhale imagine yourself sitting on a big boulder in the middle of a dry river bed.

The boulder is completely secure and you have a nice seat right on top high above the bed.

You look out and you see your most perfect view.

The Sun is shining and there's this nice cool breeze that washes over you.

Iridescent dragonflies flutter about reminding us that we're about to cross over from conscious to subconscious thought.

The rock is warm and you feel secure and connected to its connection to the ground.

Below you in that dried up riverbed the surface is cracked and muddy,

Remnant of what used to be there.

I'd like for you to imagine that this riverbed is your mind.

It's the perfect container for what could be many thoughts.

Imagining thoughts like droplets of water.

Over time they could create a river but for now it's just dry and cracked and a little muddy.

Now in your mind's eye I'd like to see if you could call in the water.

Just a little trickle at a time.

Allowing yourself to have the strength to only call in a trickle.

Just one or two little droplets of water rolling down the riverbed.

For some the water may bubble up from underneath but just a small bubble of water using the control of your mind to keep the rest at bay.

Whenever you feel ready maybe you can allow a little bit more water to roll in.

Now just kind of like a steady little teeny stream of water.

Knowing that you control the trajectory of this water it bubbles up or rolls in.

Goes around your rock and down on to the other side.

Take a deep breath in here.

Draw in the power of the rock in which you sit and its connection to the ground and the sun and the beautiful warm wind that blows around you.

Breathe it all in and exhale with controlled breath.

When you feel ready allow the rest of the river to come through remembering to control the attributes of this water.

It may be muddy and choppy but know that with your power that you draw from everything around you you can make it calm and clear.

Slowly finding its way into the riverbed around your rock and flowing to the other side.

How do you see your riverbed now?

Is it calm and crystal blue?

If not that's okay.

You're still in control like everything.

It takes practice.

It takes practice to control your mind.

If you are having any feelings around this exercise allow those feelings to slide down the front of your rock and into that riverbed.

Allow them to get washed away downstream.

Just allow them to drip out of your body.

You may start to feel lighter and maybe a smile comes across your face as these unwanted thoughts drip away down into the river in which you control and float away.

Controlling such a fierce body of water can be a little tiring so if you feel tired take a moment to look around your rock.

Look out towards that scenery in which you love.

Just hear the way the water sounds and feel the sun on your face.

Take a deep breath in.

Breathe it all in.

And as you exhale just relax on top of your rock on top of your world.

If at any time you want to come off your rock you can do so.

This is your world.

You can sit on the riverbank.

You can sit in a tree.

Wherever you desire just imagine yourself there.

Anything to make you feel relaxed and at one with the surroundings in which you sit.

Wherever it is remember to keep an eye on your river.

Continuously cleaning it and calming it down.

And when you are ready take one more look around.

Have one more last smile in this place.

Take one more deep breath in and as you exhale find your way back to the place in which you started from where you sat first down.

Take one more deep breath here in this reality and gently open your eyes.

Come back to this meditation often and whenever you feel the need to regain your strength remembering that you have the power to control your world.
