Hello and welcome.

My name is Leah Sugarman and today we'll be going through a simple meta meditation Also known as a loving kindness meditation So start by coming into a comfortable position and you can be seated or lying down Just find a place where you can forget about your body so you can bring all of your awareness to your mind Close your eyes And bring your awareness to your breath Find a soft slow steady rhythm that can remain consistent Bring to mind someone that you deeply love Someone that you care for greatly someone truly important in your life As if speaking directly to this one person Silently repeat May you live with ease may you be happy May you be free from pain Now bring to mind someone who you feel neutral about Maybe just an acquaintance or someone that you don't know particularly well As if speaking directly to this person Silently repeat May you live with ease may you be happy May you be free from pain As if speaking directly to this person Silently repeat May you live with ease May you be happy May you be free from pain Bring to mind someone that you struggle with Perhaps someone that you don't get along with Or someone that rubs you the wrong way Or someone that you just don't see eye to eye with Someone that you struggle with And as if speaking directly to this one person Silently repeat May you live with ease May you be happy May you be free from pain Now bring to mind yourself And as if speaking directly to yourself Silently repeat May you live with ease May you be happy May you be free from pain And bring to mind all sentient beings Everything and everyone that has the capacity to feel As if speaking collectively to this person Silently repeat As if speaking to the whole Silently repeat May you live with ease May you be happy May you be free from pain May you be free from pain Maintain this loving kindness energy And let it radiate out from you throughout the rest of your day Thank you so much for sharing your practice with me Thank you

I liked how this was short and to the point for days where I don’t have time to sit through a longer meditation. Thank you!

A really nice sweet meditation. I found that it moved a little too quickly from the loved person to the difficult person. It would be nice to have a little more time to settle in to the practice. 🙏
