A Mindful Moment is a short practice of stillness. The intention behind this practice is to provide a space for you to consciously connect to your breath & to your body wherever it may reside, leaving you feeling more grounded & centred to begin, continue or end your day.

Hello and welcome to your practice of stillness.

I'm so happy that you've decided to give yourself this gift in this moment.

You are so deserving of a moment of peace and of solitude and of slowing down from the busyness of your day.

Whether you find yourself just waking up and beginning the day,

Whether you're settling into bed for the evening,

Or whether you are taking a moment out of a hectic day to sit in stillness with yourself.

Wherever you find yourself,

Settle into a comfortable position.

You might find yourself lying down,

Or perhaps you're sitting cross-legged on the floor or in a chair.

It doesn't really matter where you are or what position you're in,

As long as you feel comfortable.

Notice how lovely it feels to be held,

To be held by your bed or your chair.

Notice the contact points,

Perhaps,

Of your clothing on your skin,

Your feet on the ground,

Your back supported.

When you're ready,

Close down your eyes and take a big breath in and let it go through your mouth.

Take three more deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Notice what it feels like to fill up your beautiful body with nourishing air and let go of tension that may reside in your body or even in your mind.

Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm,

But keep noticing that point of contact of the air,

Whether it's your tummy expanding and releasing,

Or perhaps it's the air flowing through your nose and out through your mouth.

Choose a place and just pay attention.

You may notice some thoughts rise up into your mind.

Don't judge yourself for thinking.

Just notice the thoughts,

Maybe label them.

I notice that I'm thinking and come back to the feeling of breath.

We're going to take one more big breath in,

In through our nose and out through our mouth.

Notice your body being held once again.

Maybe become aware of some sounds around you.

Perhaps other senses are engaged.

Maybe you can smell something.

Whatever it is,

Allow yourself to notice the external world for a moment.

Feel your body in your chair or in your bed.

When you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

That's how you feel in this moment after giving yourself just a few deep breaths and some time just for you.

I'm so grateful that you gave yourself this gift today and join me in breath.

I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day.
