God,
Universal love.
Whatever name I give to this presence that holds my life.
Bring me into today.
Not yesterday.
Not tomorrow.
Here.
Into this breath.
Into this body.
Into this moment.
Allow me to loosen my grip.
On what has already happened.
Releasing the conversations I replay.
The choices I question.
The things I wish I could change.
Yesterday.
Has had its day.
Allow me to loosen my grip on tomorrow.
The plans,
The worries,
The outcomes.
The outcomes that I keep trying to arrange before they arrive.
Tomorrow will come when it comes.
For today,
Let me be here,
Now.
Give me enough light.
For my next step.
And of courage.
For my next honest choice.
Enough patience to let some things remain unanswered.
A wondrous spirit help me accept grace when it finds me.
Grace and kindness.
Grace and rest.
Grace in forgiveness.
Grace in beginning again.
Let me receive what is good without asking whether I have earned it.
And help me notice.
Help me notice the morning light.
The warmth of a cup in my hands.
The sound of someone I love.
The air moving through my lungs.
The ground beneath my feet.
Help me notice the small things,
The ordinary things.
Things I might miss if I'm always rushing towards what comes next.
Thank you.
Thank you for what is here.
Thank you for what is easy.
And give me strength for what is not.
Let gratitude be large enough to hold both joy and difficulty.
I do not have to pretend anything is beautiful to recognize that.
Beauty is.
Here,
Within.
And when my mind runs ahead.
Bring me back.
And when I returned to the past.
Bring me back.
And when that fear gets loud.
.
.
Bring me back.
To this breath.
My breath.
To this body.
My body.
Into this moment.
Oh,
Please help me listen before I react.
Help me know when to move forward.
And when to be still.
Help me know when.
What belongs to me.
And what I can finally.
.
.
Put down.
God please.
Allow me to be useful today.
Loving today.
Let me be awake enough to recognize my own life.
While I am living in it.
And when I get it wrong,
And yes,
I will.
Let there be grace for that too.
I do not need to live tomorrow.
I do not need to repair all of yesterday.
I am this breath.
This moment.
This day.
May I meet it with open hands.
Open heart.
Walking through with gratitude.
And may I leave behind a little more kindness,
A little more peace.
A little more love.
This day.
In this life.
Thank you for your presence within and around.
And so it is.
