This practice is a part of a series of meditations I have created based on the teachings of the Twelve Steps. This practice is dedicated to Step Three and your breath, it is a simple and effective practice to soothe one's busy mind.

Welcome to this practice that is dedicated to the principle of faith.

Thank you for making a decision.

It's this decision that brings clarity for you to find comfort in sitting with yourself.

When we make a decision,

It's often out of a must.

But in this case,

It's a decision out of a desire to be closer to yourself.

Thank you for practicing with me.

Allow yourself to settle in to a surface.

You may be seated or you might lie down.

Rest your body.

Allow the body to settle in.

You may cover yourself with a blanket.

And just begin to feel your breath move in and out effortlessly.

Allow the eyes to rest in the sanctuary of self.

Closing the blinds to the outside world.

Allowing yourself to move inward deeply.

Connect to yourself.

Breathe deeply.

Each bold,

Deep breath brings you closer to yourself.

Breathe.

Allow each breath to bring you closer to your universal source.

Inhaling and exhaling effortlessly.

The breath moves from the top of your head down to the soles of your feet to the palms of your hands.

The breath moves through you.

Each breath signaling the release of both new and old ideas.

Let go.

Let go.

Each breath is a surrender of the will.

Breathe into the surrender.

Let go.

Allowing the thoughts to go,

Bubble away.

Allowing the thoughts to move in and out.

Allowing the body and the mind to intertwine and drift.

Allowing the senses to take over.

Breathe deeply,

Softly.

I will now begin to count backwards.

You may follow along with the count,

Counting silently,

Easily.

Letting yourself move through gentle,

Soft clouds,

Pillows of fluffy.

Brilliant clouds tearing you into silence,

Into a space of brilliance,

Light-filled space.

Counting backwards from 22.

Inhaling.

Exhaling.

Every breath bringing the next number.

Drift.

Allowing 17.

Each breath moving you more deeply into your faith.

Drifting down,

And counting down,

Allowing the drift.

Your faith and your actions align perfectly.

Easily attracting your highest needs.

Your will and your life aligned with the universe.

It calls to you,

Grabbing your attention perfectly.

Drifting through each magical,

Iridescent cloud.

Down.

Allowing your faith to carry you with each breath.

See yourself with the clouds drifting,

Breathing perfect harmony.

Knowing that this time has been well spent,

Knowing that every breath you take is aligned.

I will count you back from 10.

Coming back into the room nine.

Feeling the hands eight.

Feeling the toes seven.

The ankles six.

The shoulders five.

The breath becomes fuller four.

Three.

Two.

One.

Feeling refreshed,

Alive,

And grateful.

Being aligned.

Feeling aligned with unshakable faith.

This practice is your practice.

You made the decision.

You made the decision to turn your life and will over to the care and the practice.

The practice of connecting with you the universal source,

The power that keeps you sober together.

May you enjoy the next moment,

The next hour,

Until you practice again.

Stay with your breath.

Stay connected.

Take good care,
