Welcome to Guided Meditation,
A morning meditation in the tradition of the 12 Steps.
As such,
Everything contained within is only a suggestion.
You may find that it is helpful in looking to the day ahead.
And throughout the meditation practice,
We seek spiritual progress,
Not perfection.
Now let's take a comfortable seated position with the straight back,
Palms resting in your lap.
May I simply suggest that if you become distracted,
You focus back to my voice and following your breath.
There is no such thing as a bad meditation,
As your intention itself fosters growth and therefore will serve you as well as others around you throughout this day.
We're in no hurry.
Let's take a few deep breaths to begin,
Remembering that thoughts will come and go,
But will return to the object of our meditation,
Which is our breath.
Breathing in the air of life and gratitude.
Breathing out,
Peace.
Taking in all that we are grateful for and giving back peace to the world.
That peace that you give is a result of the time that you're investing in your meditation practice.
Without analysis or judgment,
We accept it just as it unfolds.
And now I'll begin our meditation with the sound of a bell,
Remembering to keep this quiet breath in and breath out,
Focusing primarily on our breath.
And now I'll begin our meditation with the sound of a bell,
Focusing primarily on our breath as we listen to being guided through this 11th step meditation.
On our awakening,
Let us think about the 24 hours ahead.
We consider our plans for the day.
Before we begin,
We ask God to direct our thinking,
Especially that it be divorced from self-pity,
Dishonest,
Or self-seeking motives.
Breathing in gratitude,
Breathing out,
Peace.
Under these conditions,
We can employ our mental faculties with assurance.
For,
After all,
God gave us brains to use.
Our thought life will be on a much higher plane when our thinking is cleared of wrong motives.
Breathing in gratitude and breathing out peace.
In thinking about our day,
We may face indecision.
We may not be able to determine which course to take.
Here we ask God for inspiration and intuitive thought or decision.
We relax and take it easy.
We don't struggle.
In so doing,
We're often surprised how the right answers come after we have tried this for just a while.
We'll now take a few minutes to return to our breath,
Remembering our intention for the day,
What we'll do with our 24 hours ahead,
And especially where our thoughts will focus.
Our desire to serve others by sharing peace and serenity,
Which we have attained through this meditation.
We'll simply breathe for the next five minutes,
Remembering our intention,
And I'll welcome you back with the sound of a bell.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for joining in this guided meditation.
As you look to the day ahead,
Remember your intention of filling with gratitude and sharing that peace and serenity with others in the day ahead.
Remember that we have only a day at a time,
And that for this day,
You will achieve it through the strength and progress that you can make spiritually.
Gently bringing sensation and gentle movements,
Opening our eyes,
Moving our feet,
Legs,
Hips,
And back.
We're welcomed back into the world.
Keep coming back.
I look forward to the next time.
