Hello,

This is Sly and I invite you to do some guided meditation to solve the problem of constant thoughts that manifest in the body becoming trapped and causing discomfort.

The way this session works is by using a visualisation of letting the grip of thoughts held in the body come and go.

And you can use this technique to help anytime you feel you're overthinking or can't control your thoughts and you need to release,

Let go to calm the mind down and retrain your brain to live in the present moment and taking charge of your life.

I invite you to find yourself a comfortable position and as you move around adjusting your posture to feel as comfortable and natural as possible bring your attention to your breath.

Notice the sensation of the air as you inhale through your nostrils and again as you exhale through your mouth.

That's right,

Just notice the sensation of the air as you breathe in and out.

In and out.

And when you feel ready you can begin to shift your focus from your breathing to your body and if you feel any aches,

Pains or stiffness you can simply notice,

Observe and perhaps you may want to loosen these parts of your body.

And if you are comfortable just as you are perhaps you can bring your focus to your feet.

That's right,

Your feet are the roots of your body and perhaps you can begin noticing sensations in the soles of your feet,

The toes,

The top of the feet and up into the ankles,

Following along up to the lower legs bringing a sense of curiosity to this practice.

That's right,

And when you're ready you can shift your awareness to spread to your knee joints,

Slowly spreading further up to the top of your thighs,

All the way up to the hips.

That's right,

Spend as much time as you need allowing these parts of your body to relax and loosen.

Loosen and relax.

And when it feels right you can draw this energy and awareness to the base of your spine.

That's right,

Focus this awareness up through the curvature of your spine all the way to the tip of the spine.

That's right,

All the way to the back of your skull,

Relax and ease the muscles around the spine,

The neck,

The skull.

And perhaps you can loosen your jaw if you haven't already done so.

That's right,

Relax and loosen.

Loosen and relax.

And when your spine and all the muscles surrounding this part of your body are relaxed,

You can shift your focus to your shoulders and some people find that you may need to readjust the position of your shoulders to be even more comfortable.

That's right.

Now that your spine is relaxed you can experiment with moving gently into different positions.

That's right,

To feel deeper relaxed,

More relaxed into the comfortable space.

And when you're ready you can bring your awareness down your arms and all the way into the fingers.

Notice and observe any slight movements or sensations.

That's right.

And when you're ready you can move your awareness all the way back up your arms,

Through your shoulders and up to your throat,

Releasing any known or unknown tension.

That's right.

And when you're ready you can move your awareness all the way up to your face,

Relaxing every muscle,

Noticing perhaps any sensitive areas on your face.

Perhaps noticing how the air might feel against the skin.

That's right.

And finally I invite you to shift your awareness to your brain.

Become aware of just how amazing and powerful your brain is.

Your brain is capable of regulating your entire body.

Your brain houses your mind which allows you to think,

Feel and create.

That's right.

And it helps to understand that just as our eyes see,

Our ears hear,

Our nose smells,

Our tongue tastes and our body feels,

Our mind thinks that's its purpose.

That's right.

The thoughts you think means little until you attach a story to it and place emotions on it.

This constant over-analysing can keep you in the past or in the future,

Taking you away from being in the present moment and your inner peace.

That's right.

I invite you to notice and feel the gentle rhythm of the breath as it moves through the body.

And some people may have heard the expression,

Thoughts are things.

You may agree that our immaterial thoughts can have a very real impact on our material lives.

That makes them things in a very real sense.

Sometimes these thoughts aren't so positive.

They are negative,

Emotionally charged and persistent.

They can overwhelm us to the point where it's difficult to resolve or release them.

That's when they get trapped in the body,

Creating unwanted emotional and behavioural patterns.

Once this happens,

It takes focus,

Loving attention and imagination to dislodge them.

And fortunately this is very doable,

Is it not?

And you can do it right now if you're ready.

And to do that,

It may be helpful to imagine your thoughts as formless,

Nebulous things.

However you want to visualise this,

It's all up to you.

The thoughts might have a neutral colour,

Such as a beige or grey.

You may imagine them as wavy blobs,

Wisps of smoke,

Chunks of dust or anything else that feels right to you.

These entities,

Whatever they look like to you,

Are littered throughout your body.

They are the manifestation of past traumas,

Painful memories,

Things you cannot control and unclean blocks.

Maybe they're in your head,

The accumulation of years of negative thoughts,

Perhaps other people's negativity in your head.

They could be in your chest,

Near your heart,

The result of unhealed heartbreak.

You can visualise them in any area where you've been injured or simply don't regard in a positive way.

These formless,

Shapeless thought blobs are living things which means they're in constant motion.

Thoughts are energy and energy is always moving.

It's possible to use this to your advantage.

That's right.

And I invite you to imagine those nebulous shapes are in motion.

If you picture this vividly enough,

You might even perceive a very slight sensation in the part of your body where the thought is.

And as you visualise this movement,

You can imagine using the thought's own momentum against itself.

It's in your body and you know that what happens in your body is influenced by your thoughts.

What if pushing this unwanted thought out were just as easy as deciding to do so?

That's right.

You can decide to breathe more deeply.

Perhaps wiggle your fingers and toes and to reject a thought that's lodged in your body.

If this analogy is helpful to you,

Perhaps you can give it a try right now.

The thought is ejected by your will plus its own momentum.

Watch as it moves through your bones,

Then your flesh and up to the surface of the skin.

Watch its wispy form as it pulls out of you completely.

That's right.

Now it floats before you,

Continuing to move away.

It passes through an invisible force field,

Your aura,

And then completely disappears.

You have all the skills to release the thoughts,

Do you not?

That's right.

And as you allow the thoughts to move out of you,

Perhaps you might notice and see other thoughts trying to move into its place.

And if you do,

All you need to do is release those thoughts using this simple visualisation technique.

You can choose to release one major thought that was causing discomfort,

Or keep going until all the stuck thoughts are gone and your body looks clean and whole in sight.

That's right.

A thought has no power unless you give it power.

You have all the skills and power to give it nothing.

No more energy,

No more power,

No more wasted time to go around and around.

No more space in your body.

And isn't it nice to know that deep inside you have all the resources and there is no right way and there is no wrong way to do this.

There is just your way to access your body's wisdom.

This is your experience.

And as you now have the ability to let thoughts go,

You have all this space.

All of your potential exists in the uncertain space of your future.

And you might embrace uncertainty and manage things very well,

Knowing that you've got this.

And as you allow your unconscious mind to naturally conjure an image of what that would feel like,

Consider what you might be seeing.

Hearing what you might be feeling that shows you are more calm,

Peaceful and focused in the moment.

Perhaps you are already feeling calm,

Peaceful and focused right here and now.

And if not,

Your unconscious mind can reveal how you might do this.

And maybe you can think of a simple way to incorporate this feeling of calm and peace into your life in the days and weeks ahead.

And after you have done this,

Know that it really can be as easy to let go of thoughts and create space for more peace,

Calm and focus in your life in the here and now.

It's all up to you,

Is it not?

It's time to unwind.

It's time to be mindful in the present moment.

And you can manage all the thoughts from a place of calmness,

From a place of balance.

Overthinking creates stress.

And when you can bring your awareness and just observe,

You can start handling your thoughts one at a time.

One breath at a time.

Letting them go one at a time.

You can reclaim your place in the world,

Being present in the moment.

By embracing a mindful approach to live better,

To feel better,

To be better.

Relax into the space and calmness of being present in the here and now as you come to the end of this practice.

And when you're ready,

Take a deep cleansing breath,

Taking in all the energy and resources of this practice.

And exhale fully.

Notice and feel the gentle rhythm of the breath as it moves through the body,

All that space.

Notice and feel the gentle rhythm of the breath as it moves through the body.

All that space.

All that comfort.

All that inner peace.

And with a clear,

Sharp,

Focused mind,

When you're ready in your own way and in your own time,

You can softly open your eyes and return your attention back to the present moment.

And you might like to thank yourself for making this special time just for you.
