Hello there.
I'm Laia.
I want to share with you a short morning meditation that you can do every day right when you wake up.
Just take a couple of moments to settle into a comfortable seated position,
Or you could even still do this while you're lying down on your bed.
So bring yourself into a comfortable shape,
Perhaps use some pillows to make yourself a little comfier.
And then once you're ready,
You can soften your gaze or close your eyes.
Take a moment to notice the sounds around you,
Becoming aware of the day,
Awakening.
Sounds of nature,
Sounds of people.
Become aware of what's going on near and far without getting too involved with anything in particular.
Just letting the world around you be what it is.
And slowly drawing your attention to sounds that are closer and closer to you.
Eventually,
Maybe you land on the gentle sound of your own breath.
Becoming aware of how the air comes in through the nostrils,
Maybe a little bit cooler and fresh,
And how it comes back out a little bit warmer,
Releasing.
Begin to observe how your breath affects your body and your inhalation.
Notice the expansion,
Front to back,
Side to side,
Top to bottom.
And on the exhalation,
Notice your body soften and gently contract.
Just become aware of the cadence of your breath.
Let yourself follow each in-breath and each out-breath,
As if your breath was the most interesting thing there is.
Notice the parts of your body in contact with the ground or your bed,
The surface beneath you.
Start to notice how your body feels,
Any tension or discomfort,
Any tightness,
Any pain.
Not to judge it,
Not to try to fix it,
Just as information of how you feel right here,
Right now,
So that you can move intentionally into your day.
What parts of your body feel relaxed and open?
Where do you feel spacious?
Are you able to notice how you feel?
Whatever you become aware of,
Just gather the information.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Open your mouth and sigh it out.
Give yourself a moment to ask yourself,
What do I need right now?
To embrace this day with more joy,
More peace,
With more whatever it is that you want more of right now in your life.
Breathe in deeply.
Let it go.
Take a moment of gratitude for this new day,
For your ability to explore,
Learn,
And grow just as you are.
If it resonates with you,
Perhaps you bring one hand to your abdomen and one hand to your heart,
Or both hands to your heart.
Taking a deep inhalation,
Filling up your entire body,
Perhaps hold at the top,
Connecting to this sense of abundance,
And let go.
Once you feel ready,
You can start to open your eyes again,
Bring a little bit of movement back into your body,
And start your day,
Maybe a beautiful one.
I'll see you next time.
