Welcome to Wonderbomb.
Thanks for pushing play.
Today we're going to play a little game called Zap Your Inbox.
So open up your email and we'll get started.
Pause if you need more time to get ready.
Okay,
The idea is to scroll slowly through your messages and try not to get caught up in the subject of the email or any follow-up you need to do.
Instead we're focusing on the names and the people behind each of these emails.
Even if they're corporate newsletters,
There's a human behind each message.
You'll probably be scrolling past the names of some people you love,
Some people you don't,
And some you barely know.
That doesn't matter.
We're going to connect with them all in the same way by simply sending them some good vibes.
Because each of these people,
No matter what you think of them or how well you know them,
Each one has a life full of worries,
Expectations and challenges.
So as we scroll past,
Just focus your attention on the person's name and say in your mind,
Be well.
Do it slowly so you have time to really mean it,
Like you're zapping them with a laser beam of good vibes.
Narrow your eyes,
Rein in your focus.
Be well.
And then scroll down to the next person and do the same.
Focus in and wish them well.
Be well.
Now we're not suggesting that the recipient can feel this.
It's not about that.
It's a brain exercise that has been proven to make you feel better.
Modern studies show people who practice this kind of compassion meditation are more connected,
Empathetic and compassionate.
Brain imaging shows it regulates the functioning of the limbic system,
Which processes emotions and empathy.
And compassion meditation is one of the most effective techniques for improving depression.
Clearly powerful stuff.
So let's keep going.
Make it into a game.
Don't get sucked into the content.
You can come back to that.
Right now we're on a mission to zap each human with kindness.
Be well.
Good on you.
Nice work.
I'll leave you with some music to keep practicing if you like.
Thanks for being here.
Yeah.
Yep.
Mmm.
You
