Or alternate nostril breathing.
This helps calm our nervous system,
Balances our sympathetic and parasympathetic systems.
It's a really quick anxiety release tool,
Synchronizes both hemispheres of the brain,
Releases toxins,
Lowers our heart rate,
And returns you to center point.
Go ahead and get into a comfortable position,
Sitting up tall.
If you're laying down,
That works as well.
And we'll be using our left hand,
Folding our pointer and middle finger toward the palm.
Using the left thumb,
Press against and close your left nostril.
Inhale through your right nostril.
Then close your right nostril with your ring finger,
Letting go of the left nostril.
Exhale through the left nostril.
Wait a moment.
Inhale through the same left nostril.
Wait a moment.
Close off left nostril.
Exhale through the right nostril.
Inhale right nostril.
Wait a moment.
Close off right nostril with ring finger.
Exhale left nostril.

Return to your normal breathing pattern.
