Start by finding a comfortable position,
Either lying down,
Sitting wherever you feel most comfortable.
And before you close your eyes,
First find a spot,
Floor,
Ceiling,
Wall,
Wherever you like and just focus intently on that spot.
Connect with the spot so much that everything around it just fades into the background.
Yes.
And as you focus on the spot,
Also focus on your breathing.
Connect with your breath as you breathe in and out.
And now go ahead and deepen your breath.
Inhaling slowly,
Deeply.
Exhaling slowly,
Deeply.
And as you focus on the spot,
Focus on your breath,
Focus on the sounds around you.
And as you connect with the sounds around you,
Maybe you hear my voice,
Maybe you hear the music,
Maybe you hear other sounds where you are.
Focus on the spot and allow your eyes to blink naturally.
And with every blink,
You become more calm,
More peaceful.
As you focus on your breathing,
Taking deep breaths in,
Pushing the air down to your belly,
Your diaphragm,
Allowing your belly to expand,
Pushing back on your vagus nerve that lies behind your belly,
Allowing that vagus nerve to send calm,
Optimal messages to your brain.
As you focus on your spot,
As your eyes blink,
If you find it easier to close your eyes,
Go ahead.
As you notice your breath,
Focus and connect to your breath,
Connecting with the sounds,
The air in the room,
Fully present.
Allow your brain to show you a symbol that represents calm,
Optimal brain space.
Maybe it's something in nature,
Maybe it's something you've seen before,
Or maybe it's a brand new thought or imagination.
It could be a logo or figurine.
And trust your brain,
Whatever your brain gives you is right.
Just see,
Sense,
Or imagine this symbol,
The symbol that represents calm,
Optimal brain space.
See the color of the symbol,
The size,
The shape,
Connect with your symbol.
And know that you can return to this calm,
Optimal brain space anytime you want to.
Even if you're in a room full of people,
All you have to do is recall your symbol and go quickly,
Calmly,
Deeply to calm,
Optimal brain state.
