A simple and easy to follow breathing based practice that guides children to the source of joy within each of us. By participating in the guided meditation, the hope is that each child learns to be in touch with the source of joy, love, strength, and wisdom within themselves.

Transcript

Take a nice deep breath in and close your eyes down when you are ready.

We are going on a magical journey on the inside.

Imagine a feeling of joy.

You feel an opening at the top of your head.

And joy floats in through the opening at the top of your head.

And slowly it starts to fill up your head and your neck.

It fills your shoulders and your arms.

The joy then floats down to your chest and your heart space.

You feel your heart is so full of joy.

Joy gently makes its way down to your belly and onto your back.

It floats down ever so gently into your legs and right down to your feet.

Through your toes,

Right through to your little toe.

Every part of your body is full of joy.

You are so full of joy.

It begins to overflow and spreads out beyond your body.

It spreads out to everyone in your classroom.

And then further and further until it spreads out over the entire country.

And even further to the whole planet Earth.

And it continues spreading out even further into the universe.

Beyond the planets.

Beyond the stars.

Until the whole universe is filled with your joy.

And as you feel the universe filled with joy you feel even more joy.

Knowing that joy is infectious and can never be contained.

Joy is to be shared.

The more we share our joy the more joy we feel.

And feel the warm glowing feeling of joy in your heart.

Knowing that joy lives inside of you.

Take a deep breath in now.

Breathe out fully.

And when you are ready give yourself a nice big stretch.

Arms above your head.

Stretching higher and higher.

And then gently let your arms down by the sides.

And slowly open your eyes.

And continue taking all the joy that you feel in your heart and in your body out into the big wide world.

And share it with them.
