Hello and welcome to the mountain.
I'm on Ben Eim in the Archaealps and it's a sunny and cloudy day and from the summit here all I can see is mountains.
It's a lumpy bumpy landscape all around,
360 degrees.
These mountains are really rocky so there's big rock falls and scree slopes and cliffs.
It's a really powerful place.
And there's so much water around so all the deeper valleys fill up to form the lochs.
So I can see Loch Lomond,
Loch Arklit,
Loch Catrin,
Loch Fyne and then to the south is the sea,
Arran,
Elsa Craig,
When you're up high on the summit,
You can see all the little lochens,
Which are just small pools of water.
They're incredible colours,
Like sometimes they're really silvery and then sometimes raven black,
And they're kind of enticing places.
It's a green and watery view with blue sky and white clouds.
So start to settle down and get comfortable.
Make sure you've got what you need to be nice and cozy.
And then let's take some breaths together.
So a slow gentle in-breath through the nose,
Feel the ribcage expand and then softly sigh through the mouth.
Ugh.
It's good to be here.
Another breath in through the nose,
Out through the mouth if you wish.
Inviting a sense of letting go with the out breath.
There's nowhere else you need to be right now.
I climb a lot of hills and I quite often fall asleep on the top.
Which is quite unusual.
And I think it's the energy of the rock and it's so relaxing in that there's a carpet of mossy grass and heather,
Bit of peaty soil,
But the rock is right there.
And the raven's joining in.
So let's start to settle down and imagine there's a pool.
This rock has a pull that invites you.
To let go and drop into your supports.
Inviting perhaps a feeling of heaviness Perhaps you're starting to feel a little more settled.
As we rest here in the company of the mountains.
Perhaps you can feel this slowness,
Coolness.
Quiet now.
Slow mountain time.
If you wish now you can join me on a journey around the body.
Sensing the different parts as I name them.
And inviting into each place your awareness and the slowness and the coolness and the steadiness of the rock.
Beginning in the centre of the forehead.
Inviting the slow coolness the magnetic rock.
Into the forehead resting with the mountain.
And then bring your awareness to the lower throat.
Center of the chest Navel.
Pubic bone.
Inviting your awareness into your hips.
Your thighs Knees.
Ankles.
Heals.
Souls of the Fae.
Big toes.
And all the toes resting in your awareness now.
Buttocks,
Spine.
Length of spine.
Back of the head.
Top of the head.
Centre of the forehead.
Base of the throat.
Shoulders.
Upper arms.
Elbows.
Wrists Palms of the hand.
Thumbs.
And all the fingers.
Awareness in the fingers now.
Awareness in both hands.
Both arms.
Both feet both legs.
The whole trunk.
The net.
And the head.
The whole body.
Resting here.
Resting on the mountain.
The whole body.
Invited in.
And down.
The whole body.
Breathing with the mountain.
Becoming mountain.
And now I invite you to softly bring your awareness to your heart.
Moving gently into the chest space,
The area around the heart.
Imagine wrapping the heart up with your awareness.
The breathing heart.
The beating heart.
The being heart.
And then making space for the heart's voice.
Dropping down.
Resting down.
An invitation by the mountain to rest into her.
Resting into the rock.
Breathing with the mountain.
Inhaling Exhaling.
Inhaling Exhaling.
If you wish you could imagine.
Inhaling sky.
Exhaling.
Mountain Inhale.
Sky.
Exhale.
Mountain resting.
.
.
.
With the pull of the rock.
Whilst enjoying the expanse of the sky.
And now the invitation is to drop down into the heart of the mountain.
Into that deep inner pulse,
Deep inside the rock.
Moving your awareness down and down and down.
To the center.
Being with the rhythm of the mountain.
The breath of the mountain.
The voice of the mountain.
Resting here with the mountain's heart.
And when you're ready to return,
Notice if there's anything to bring with you.
An awareness,
A gift,
A knowing.
Coming back from the mountain's heart to your own heart.
Coming back.
Returning to your heart now.
And trusting that you received what you needed today.
Trusting the slowness and the coolness and the stability of the rock.
We're slowly transitioning back to your body.
Back to the feeling of touching your supports.
Returning gently to the rhythm of your breath.
Taking some deeper breaths into the ribcage,
Opening the mouth having a sigh.
Sigh Coming back to your body,
Your breath and your space.
Acknowledging where you are.
And from here,
Making your own transition back to the rest of your day,
Taking your time,
Taking care.
Thank you for joining me today.
I'll see you in the next meditation.
Your Yoga Nidra is complete.
