Come into a position where you feel both comfortable and alert.

You could be lying down or in a reclined position,

Sitting upright,

Or perhaps you have your legs up the wall in an inversion.

Tune into your body and see if you can tell what it needs today.

As you settle in,

Close your eyes or soften your gaze,

Beginning to take this journey inward.

Start with taking a few deep,

Slow breaths in through the nose and out through the nose.

When your breathing is slow and steady,

Your diaphragm tells your brain that everything is under control and you are calm and safe and there is nothing to worry about.

Can you feel your body relax a little more with each exhale?

Start to slow down the thoughts by completely focusing on the breath.

Think to yourself,

Inhale as you breathe in and exhale as you breathe out.

If you'd like to add a count,

You can do so after every exhale.

It'll sound like inhale,

Exhale one.

Inhale,

Exhale two.

Continue that all the way up to a count of eight,

Then back down to one.

Now that you're settled in,

You can release the counting of breaths and just sit with the inhale and exhale.

Our deep listening question is inspired by the archetype,

The tear.

Archetypes are key images,

Tendencies,

Personalities that appear in every culture.

The tear is a tool of release.

Tears are droplets of letting go.

Once they begin to fall,

We allow the swelling tide of emotion to run its course.

Often the tear is what is needed for a conversation or situation to break into the next level of intimacy and vulnerability.

Turn your focus inward and ask yourself,

What emotions do I need to feel?

Sit with this question without trying to analyze or think and just allow any answers to come up from deep within.

What emotions do I need to feel?

As you practice tuning in to your intuition,

You may notice that you don't always hear words.

You may have gotten images or impressions or even random thoughts or memories.

Anything that came up could have meaning.

Take a few breaths to process whatever came up for you and consider if you want to act on anything that you learned.

Listen to the following affirmation.

I don't need to change right away.

I don't need to feel better right away.

I don't need to feel better right away.

I just need to listen.

I trust this feeling will move through me in its own time.

I trust myself to hear what it has to say.

I trust myself to learn what I need to learn from it.

I don't need to change right away.

I don't need to feel better right away.

I just need to listen.

I trust this feeling will move through me in its own time.

I trust myself to hear what it has to say.

I trust myself to learn what I need to learn from it.

As we reach the end of today's practice,

Bring the palms together at heart center,

Slightly bowing your head.

Take a moment to reflect on your experience.

Were you able to connect with your inner wisdom?

Did you practice listening and being open?

Allow this experience and any insights you've gained to stay with you as you bring your awareness back to your physical surroundings.

Take your time and when you're ready,

Open your eyes and allow your body any movement that it needs.
