Katie Sheen

Having first discovered mindfulness in 2001, Katie's practice has supported her through many joys and challenges, including cancer in both 2015 and 2026. With her strong academic background she enjoys researching, writing and sharing courses, retreats, webinars, workshops and conference sessions, inspiring others to embrace the aspects of mindfulness that resonate with them most deeply. Katie particularly enjoys exploring practical ways that mindfulness can become part of the fabric of both personal and professional life rather than a separate practice, helping people to embrace a calmer, happier life even when living through experiences such as anxiety, overwhelm, fatigue, pain and ill health. Katie completed her MA Education in 2013 whilst teaching on the MSc Nutritional Therapy course at University of Worcester, weaving mindfulness and mindful eating into clinical practice workshops from 2011. Having explored a variety of Buddhist and secular traditions over the years, she discovered the Plum Village community of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh in 2014 and immediately felt at home. She has enjoyed being part of the Course Leaders Team for Plum Village UK since 2016, and also qualified as an accredited Breathworks Mindfulness Teacher in 2021, specialising in Mindfulness for Health. She is a contributory author for 'Tears Become Rain' (Parallax Press 2023) and 'The Colourful Kitchen Collection Cookbook' (Institute for Optimum Nutrition 2024).
