Welcome to tonight's kata meditation.
Go ahead and close your eyes and put your hand on your heart for just a moment.
And as you take your next breath,
Just be aware of your chest rising and lifting your hand with it.
And then be aware of your hand and your chest lowering as you breathe out.
See if you can slow down the pace of your breathing just a little bit with each breath.
Your thoughts may be racing,
Caught in tomorrow's embrace.
Your spirit might feel heavy as shadows flicker across your face.
Place your hand over your heart.
Feel its persistent,
Gentle beat.
Each pulse a soft reminder.
In life's rhythms,
We are complete.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest.
With each deep,
Mindful breath,
Invite in tranquility and exhale all that stress.
Here lies a gentle truce,
A whisper through the pain.
There is no storm you can't weather,
No loss where you don't gain.
All of your burdens,
Gather them in your mind's eye.
See them as leaves on a river,
Drifting under the sky.
Each worry,
Each hurry,
Let them soften and blur.
Watch them dissolve into the mist.
Feel the lightness occur.
Now the weight of duties that clutter your restless mind,
Your restful path.
See them as grains of sand,
Washed away in a warm bath.
Gather now your sorrows,
Your anxieties and your fears.
Breathe them out one by one,
And then watch them disappear.
Feel the tension within,
Knotted threads in your soul.
With each exhale,
Untie them,
And let serenity take hold.
Relax,
And find peace.
Relax,
And find peace.
And ease into sleep.
The world's weight lifts off of you,
As the universe takes hold.
She cradles you in cosmic arms,
Gives warmth where once was cold.
So rest now,
Dear one.
In the stillness of the night,
Your burdens are not yours to keep.
Release them to the light.
Drift now into sleep.
Where dreams weave and swell.
In this serene,
Sacred space,
You are whole,
And all is well.
Namaste,
Beautiful.
