Hello there,
Beautiful!
I am so grateful that you're here with me today,
Meditating.
These moments are so necessary and so special for us to come inside and connect with ourselves.
So let's start by taking a slow breath in.
And then gently breathe out.
Again,
Breathe in,
Allowing your forehead to soften.
Their cheeks to relax.
Your shoulders to lower.
In your belly to release.
And relax completely.
Feel your legs supported beneath you.
Your feet resting easily.
As your whole body begins to remember what it feels like.
To let go.
Perhaps you've been holding your breath.
For longer than you realize.
Not literally,
But inwardly.
Always preparing.
Always anticipating.
Always waiting for the next thing that needs your attention.
Imagine now.
A small bird resting quietly on the branch of an old tree.
Its feathers are slightly ruffle from the wind.
Its tiny heart is beating quickly after a long storm.
For a while.
It stays perfectly still.
Watching.
Listening.
Making sure the storm isn't returning.
Then something begins to change.
The wind grows quiet.
The branches stop swinging.
Warm sunlight begins to filter through the leaves.
The little bird doesn't fly away immediately.
Simply notices.
The quiet,
The warm,
The stillness.
Its tiny heartbeat begins to slow.
And it finally realizes.
That it is safe.
Perhaps your body has been waiting for that same realization.
A moment of safety.
Feel your breath now.
Easy,
Gentle.
On Force.
Notice your chest becoming softer.
And your belly rising and falling without effort.
Imagine that little bird lifting its head toward the morning sun.
It no longer needs to live as though the storm is still happening.
Let this wisdom settle gently inside of you.
Your body knows how to soften.
Your heart knows how to rest.
Your nervous system remembers the way home.
Rest here for a few more breaths.
You are.
Safe.
Namaste.
Beautiful.
