Welcome to this body gratitude meditation.

It's so easy to become disconnected from the grounding of ourselves and our bodies.

This is a practice to help us remember to return and reconnect in the midst of our busy,

Overstimulated and frantic world.

It's a practice to find peace amidst the chaos,

Embodying shalom.

Let love guide you in this practice to reconnect to places in you that feel disconnected,

Lost or forgotten.

Let love guide you in the practice of settling in and being grounded in gratitude for your one life lived through your body.

Find a comfortable seated position or lay down whichever you prefer.

Simply be with your body in a way that nurtures gentle noticing.

Closing your eyes,

Softening your gaze,

Bring your attention to your breath.

Notice your inhales and your exhales.

Now take a deeper breath in,

Hold it at the top and let out a full,

Slow exhale.

We start with prayer,

An acknowledgement to the source of life,

Creator and the love that is holding your story,

All the undone places in you,

All the questions.

We pause and release the places of unsettling,

Tensions that are knotted,

Worries of the future,

Regrets of the past.

Release,

Breathe.

Now cue into your feet,

Toes and ankles.

Let them fall heavy.

Thank your feet for the places they've taken you.

Thank the gravity now that's drawing them to the earth.

These feet have supported you ever since you could walk.

They are the place of connection to the earth,

A reminder of your rootedness.

Then thank your legs,

The way they move,

The size,

The shape,

The color.

Thank them for their strength as towers holding your frame.

Thank them for the ability to dance and walk.

Relaxing your arms,

Elbows,

Forearms,

Hands and every finger,

Pause at your hands.

Thank your hands for all that they have touched and fed,

Caressed,

Given and held.

Thank them for the times that they've held another's hands,

A further source of connection.

Thank your hands and arms letting them rest.

Gently move your attention towards your breasts or chest,

A place of beauty and nourishment,

Shielding your heart to the sacred place of love.

It's here that you feel when you lean into an embrace.

Gently accept what you feel now in this moment and allow it to be.

Embrace your emotions that come in waves and feel them and release them.

Thank your heart for perceiving the beauty and fullness of life.

Thank your midsection,

Your belly,

Your organs that do so much.

Breathe into any place that feels unsettled.

Relax the top of your head,

The muscles in your face,

Forehead,

Eyebrows,

Space between your eyebrows,

Your eyes,

Your temples,

Your cheeks,

Your jaws,

Your tongue.

Your face shines the beauty of your soul,

Allowing others to read your emotions.

Your senses give you a broader understanding of the depth of the world.

Queue into between your eyes.

In the Eastern tradition,

It's called the third eye.

It's the place of perception,

Knowing,

Seeing.

Perceive now yourself through this lens of love.

Thank your face as it's been a mirror of love to others and rest.

This good body of yours,

Its systems keep running without your conscious thoughts.

It houses the gift of wisdom and intuition through the deep rooted connection.

Just a few moments more picturing your body in perfect harmony.

Floor.

Ahhhh, Katie’s guidance is a deep inhale. I would describe my meditation experience with her as a sonar excavation that meets embodiment storytelling. She asks you to take a closer look at yourself (your body), take a deeper listen, and promote a sense of self-awareness, self-compassion, self-appreciation—self-love. In a word—ahhhhh.
