Thank you for joining me and I hope you've had a beautiful day.
I invite you to lie down,
Get comfortable as we move into a relaxed state,
Getting ourselves ready for sleep ahead.
I encourage you to take a moment,
A few deep belly breaths,
Feel the lungs expanding,
The air moving down into your tummy,
Stomach expands,
Feeling up with air,
Vitality,
Then breathe it all out.
The heaviness of the day,
The busyness of the day,
It's time to let it all go now.
For some of us we might need a few breaths,
So take those breaths in and then release out the long sighs.
Emptying out is important because we feel the day with many things,
Conversations,
Deadlines,
Engagements,
Thoughts,
A movement,
But this is the time to let it all go.
Let it fall away,
Drop away from you now.
A few more breaths,
And as you do I invite you to feel the weight of the body against the bed or ground that you might be lying on.
Can you take a moment to feel the sensation where your back is supported,
Is held,
Where your hips touch,
They too are held,
Supported.
Feel the backs of your legs,
Calf muscles,
All just letting go,
Heavy and held.
I want you to now imagine that where your back touches,
That from which deep roots come from those touch points.
They leave your body,
They extend down,
Down,
Down,
Into the ground,
Expanding outwardly.
They reach,
They expand,
They grow out and vast in ways that we may never see.
Deep roots help to ground and connect us through the land that we walk on that holds us,
But we never take the time to really stop,
Connect and ground down.
So as you do and you continue to imagine those roots from your spine,
Maybe they're from the back of your hip,
Deep roots from the backs of your knees or the heels of your feet.
Maybe one deep root is growing from the back of your head and with each of these roots they help us to empty out,
Imagining all of the day,
All of those thoughts,
All of that movement,
All the day encompassed.
It's emptying out through each of these roots,
Draining out,
Down into the ground,
Funneling all that energy,
All of your effort,
Anything heavy,
Anything you don't want anymore,
Any stress,
Any worries,
Any conversations that just were hard,
They all channel down into the earth.
The earth offers us the chance to surrender it,
For it to be transformed and transmuted,
To return back to us in a purer cleansed and revitalised form.
The earth is regenerative,
The earth gives life,
So you can stay grounded,
Rooted in to the earth for as long as you wish.
You might drift off deep earthly sleep,
Rich and wholesome,
Or if you are called to come back,
Ask you to pull back those roots,
Imagine them coming back,
They now return to you,
They come up through the different soil,
They come back through the bed or the earth that you were on,
And you are returned back to your body,
You are returned back to your whole self,
Grounded,
Lighter,
Connected,
But emptied out,
Ready for another state of rest,
Which is best done when we can fully empty out first.
So I encourage you to stay very comfortable and ease into the beautiful space of sleep now,
Take a few moments to drift,
Ease and glide into gentle sleep state.
