Expansive Body Scan is a guided meditation inviting you to rest deeply and reconnect with your body, one area at a time. Rooted in yogic tradition and supported by modern understandings of the nervous system, this practice offers a detailed journey through the whole body—from crown to toes, with particular care for the face, hands, and feet. The guidance is steady, warm, and trauma-informed, designed for those who may feel disconnected from their bodies or who benefit from having a continuous, reassuring voice throughout. Suitable for lying down in Shavasana or resting in a comfortable seated position, this meditation can support learning how to relax, cultivate embodied mindfulness, or simply helping your system "find ground". Opening with three rounds of tensing and releasing muscles, we move into a body scan quite quickly and the body scan is extensive and detailed. Gentle music plays in the background.
