Hello,

I'm Kate and I'm so happy that you've joined me for this practice today.

This will be a short morning reset to help shift any feelings of anxiety or stress that you might be feeling this morning.

It's very normal to start the day with worry in our heads,

A feeling of foreboding of what the day brings,

Things we have to achieve,

Get done,

Especially if we're not feeling our best selves either physically or mentally.

And having a short practice to help shift the way you feel can be incredibly powerful.

So let's get started.

The most important thing is that you're comfortable,

Whatever that means for you.

That might be lying down if you've just woken or perhaps sitting in a chair on a sofa.

So just see if you can make yourself just 10% more comfortable.

Perhaps moving your body,

Just finding a position that's as comfortable as possible.

And when you're ready,

Just closing the eyes down or if you prefer,

Just lowering the gaze to the floor.

And starting by just seeing what's here this morning.

Scanning the body from the head down to your toes and just seeing how the body's doing.

Just going at your own pace,

Your own time.

And as you move from the head all the way down to the toes,

Seeing if you can soften into any areas of tension,

Perhaps by breathing a little into those spaces.

So just exploring the body,

Not judging it,

Not trying to change it.

And often when we're feeling stressed,

We feel it somewhere in our bodies.

It might be a shortness of breath.

It might be butterflies in our stomach.

A tension in our shoulders.

Or just a general sense of dis-ease.

And just by allowing these sensations to be felt,

To be explored,

To be accepted,

It counter-intuitively allows them to be released.

So just giving your body a little attention this morning.

Seeing if you can allow any areas of tension just to ease and soften.

And now to help ease that feeling of stress a little more,

Bringing all your attention to your breath.

And again,

Just noticing how you find it this morning.

Maybe it's in your throat,

Your nostrils,

Your belly.

And just seeing if you can connect in with the natural rhythm of the breath.

Allowing it to be just as it is.

Not trying to force it,

Change it.

And seeing if you can deepen the out-breath.

Seeing the out-breath as a chance for you to really exhale any tension.

Ease any stress.

Soften the body.

And soothe your mind.

And if your mind's wandering into the day ahead,

That's totally normal.

So just gently guiding your attention back.

Back to your breath.

Back to the gentle rhythm of your breath.

Rising and falling.

And really allowing your body to sink deeper into the surface beneath you with every out-breath.

And now that you've given your body,

Your breath,

Some attention,

A chance to ease a little,

Now it's time to think about the day ahead.

And just imagining the end of your day.

And if you were to look back,

How you'd like to feel.

What colour would this day have?

What tone?

What feelings?

So just taking a moment to really set an intention for the tone that you'd like to bring your day.

Shifting a little of that worry,

That anxiety.

Into a different shape.

A different tone.

Something more hopeful.

Something more expansive.

Something more grounding.

And seeing if you can allow that tone,

That feeling,

To be held in your body.

That expansion running throughout every cell in your body,

From the head all the way down to the feet.

A sense of real strength,

Real grounding,

Real steadiness.

And just taking a moment to really seal in this feeling,

This tone.

And looking forward now to the day ahead of you.

Knowing that you're set.

You're ready.

And in your own time,

No rush.

Gently moving towards the end of this meditation by bringing some movement back into the body.

Gently wiggling the fingers.

Wiggling the toes.

And slowly opening your eyes.

And just noticing how you feel.

Anything that might have shifted.

And I hope that this has helped shift the quality of your day,

Even just a small amount.

The more you practice in the mornings,

The more you'll see the transformation in your days.

Thank you so much for joining me.

I hope to see you soon.

Take care.

Bye.
