Today,

We'll explore how to turn down the volume of the inner critic and replace it with a voice rooted in truth and care.

Before we begin,

Take a moment to get still.

Find a comfortable seat or lie down if that feels better.

Let your eyes soften or close.

We'll take three audible breaths together,

In through the nose,

Out through the mouth.

Let the exhale be full and open.

This kind of breathing helps calm the nervous system and signals to the body you're safe.

You're here.

You can let go.

Inhale through the nose.

Exhale through the mouth.

Again inhale and exhale.

One more breath in.

And let it go.

From this quiet place,

I offer you these words.

Dear Higher Power,

There's a voice inside me that's quick to criticize.

It tries to keep me safe by keeping me small,

But it leaves me tired,

Anxious,

And unsure of myself.

Today I want to turn the volume down.

Help me notice the critic without believing it.

Help me pause before I pile on.

Help me respond with curiosity instead of cruelty.

May I remember that I am allowed to grow without being shamed into it.

Let me replace the voice of harshness with a voice that heals.

One that says,

You are learning.

You are worthy.

You are doing the best you can.

And that is enough.

I leave this in your hands.

Thank you Kari, wonderfully wise and compassionate. I personally applied this with a lens to my experience with aging this morning and it was fabulously fitting! Namaste 🙏🏻 💕
