Good morning.
Find a quiet,
Comfortable place to sit or lie down.
If you feel the weight of the day already pressing on you,
This meditation will help ease that burden and bring you back to a place of calm and control.
Take a moment to simply acknowledge how you feel without judgment.
Start by taking a deep breath in through your nose,
Letting the air fill your lungs,
Expanding your belly.
Hold it for a moment,
And then release slowly through your mouth.
As you exhale,
Feel your body begin to release some of the tension.
Repeat this breath two more times,
Each time exhaling a little more deeply and intentionally.
With each inhale,
Imagine you're breathing in calm,
Peaceful energy.
With each exhale,
Release any worry or stress,
Letting it drift away.
No need to force anything,
Just allow your breath to naturally guide you into a more grounded space.
Now bring your awareness to your body.
Notice any areas that feel tense,
Heavy,
Or uncomfortable.
Rather than trying to fix or change these sensations,
Simply acknowledge them.
If you feel tightness in your chest or knots in your stomach,
Softly say to yourself,
It's okay,
I'm here now,
And I'm safe in this moment.
Next,
Gently bring your awareness to your senses.
What do you hear around you?
Can you feel the texture of the fabric beneath you,
Or maybe the ground beneath your feet?
What temperature is the air on your skin?
These small details are often overlooked,
And they can help you anchor into the present moment.
Remind yourself that in this very moment,
You are safe.
The overwhelm of the future doesn't exist here,
In this present moment,
In this present breath.
Imagine that you're standing in a beautiful,
Open space,
Surrounded by nature.
Perhaps it's a quiet forest,
Or a vast beach,
Or a meadow filled with wildflowers.
Whatever place brings you peace,
Allow yourself to be fully immersed in it.
Notice the colors,
The sounds,
The sensations of this space.
Feel how expansive it is,
With plenty of room for you to breathe and exist freely.
The sky above is open and wide,
And you feel this deep sense of possibility.
In this spacious place,
Imagine that the weight of your overwhelm is a cloud of energy hovering above you.
It feels heavy and thick,
But it's not fixed on you.
With each exhale,
See this cloud begin to lift higher and higher,
Drifting away into the vast sky.
As it moves farther from you,
Feel your body growing lighter and lighter and more open.
There is now space around you.
Space to breathe,
To move,
And to simply be.
You don't need to solve any problems.
This moment is for creating space,
And for allowing the overwhelm to just dissipate without holding onto it.
As you stand in this open,
Peaceful space,
Bring to mind a phrase or affirmation that resonates with you.
You might think,
I release what I cannot control.
I am allowed to take this day one moment at a time.
I have the strength to handle whatever comes,
But for now,
I will simply be.
You can repeat these affirmations softly,
Either aloud or in your mind,
And let them sink into your being.
Let them wrap around you like a comforting blanket,
Providing warmth and reassurance.
Feeling a deeper sense of calm and strength growing inside of you.
Now,
Come back.
Gently shift your awareness back to your body.
Take a moment to notice how you feel.
Whether it's a small shift or a greater sense of ease,
Recognize that you created this space for yourself.
You've taken time to breathe and let go of everything around you.
Breathe and reconnect with the present,
And that in itself is an act of self-care.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Stretch your arms if that feels good,
And take a deep breath.
Bring in fresh energy.
Before ending this meditation this morning,
Take a moment to set a simple intention for the day.
This could be something as gentle as,
I will be kind to myself today.
I will take things one step at a time.
There's no need to push yourself with lofty goals.
Just choose something that supports your well-being.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
If they're closed.
Taking in the world that is around you.
Remind yourself that this calm,
Grounded feeling is something you can return to at any point during the day,
Even if it's just for a moment.
You are more than the overwhelm,
And you are capable of navigating this day with grace and resilience,
One moment at a time.
Thank you for being with me this morning.
