Good morning.
Before you step into this day.
Before you begin responding to the world around you.
Before you start thinking about everything that needs your attention.
Take a moment.
Just a moment to be here.
To arrive.
To come back to yourself.
Because sometimes,
Even before our feet touch the floor,
Our minds are already somewhere else.
Thinking about what happened yesterday.
Anticipating what might happen today.
Rehearsing conversations.
Remembering responsibilities.
Trying to get ahead of all the things we cannot yet know.
And without even realizing it,
We can leave ourselves behind.
So this morning.
.
.
There is nothing you need to get ahead of.
Nothing you need to figure out just yet.
For these few moments,
You are allowed to simply be here.
Breathing.
Feeling.
Beginning again.
If it feels comfortable,
Allow your eyes to close.
Or soften your gaze.
And let the world around you settle into the background.
Notice the surface beneath you.
The bed.
The chair.
The floor supporting your body.
Feel the simple steadiness of being held.
You don't have to create that support.
You don't have to earn it.
For now.
You can simply receive it.
Take a slow,
Gentle breath in.
And let it go.
Again,
Breathing in… and releasing.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Even just a little.
And clench your jaw.
Let your hands rest.
There is no perfect way to do this.
You don't need to feel completely calm.
You don't need to clear your mind.
You are simply giving yourself a little room to arrive.
Bring your attention to your feet.
Notice any sensation you can feel.
Perhaps warmth.
Perhaps coolness.
Perhaps the simple awareness that your feet are here,
Beneath you,
Ready to carry you into another day.
Let your awareness move slowly upward.
Through your legs.
Your hips.
Your belly.
Your chest.
Notice the quiet movement of your breath.
The gentle rising.
The gentle falling.
Your body has been with you through every day you've lived.
Through the difficult moments,
Through the uncertain ones.
Through the times you felt strong.
And the times you wondered how you would find the strength to continue.
And here you are.
Still here.
Still breathing.
Still being given this moment.
You don't need to ask your body to be different this morning.
You don't need to criticize it into becoming something else.
For these few breaths,
You can let it simply be the place you call home.
A place to return to.
A place to listen.
A place to begin.
Now notice the sounds around you.
The familiar sounds of your home.
Perhaps the hum of a machine,
Birdsong outside,
The distant movement of the world beginning its day.
These sounds remind you that life is unfolding around you.
And you don't have to manage it all at once.
You only have to meet that part that is yours to meet.
Not the entire day.
Not every possible outcome.
Not every conversation that might happen.
Just this moment.
And then the next.
Sometimes we believe that if we think far enough ahead,
We can protect ourselves from uncertainty.
That if we anticipate every problem,
We can prevent ourselves from being caught off guard.
That so much of life cannot be solved in advance,
And you deserve to experience the life you are living.
Not only in preparing yourself for everything that might happen,
So for now,
Let tomorrow's worries wait.
Let the unanswered questions remain unanswered.
Let the day be a little unwritten.
You do not have to know everything in order to begin.
You do not have to feel ready for every possibility.
You can meet this morning exactly as you are.
Now,
As you prepare to move into your morning,
Consider what you would like to carry with you.
Not a long list of intentions.
Not another set of expectations.
Just one gentle reminder.
Perhaps it is patience.
Perhaps courage.
Perhaps the willingness to take things one step at a time.
Perhaps the reminder that you don't have to rush to prove that you are doing enough.
Or perhaps it is simply this.
I can come back to myself.
Let those words settle into you.
I can come back to myself.
When the day becomes busy.
I can come back to myself.
When I feel uncertain,
I can come back to myself.
When I forget to be gentle with myself,
I can begin again.
Take one more slow,
Comfortable breath.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Feel your body here.
Feel the simple reality of this morning.
You don't have to make this day extraordinary.
You don't have to get everything right.
You don't have to carry the whole day in your mind before it has even begun.
You are allowed to meet it as it comes,
With the wisdom you have gathered,
With the kindness you are learning to offer yourself.
With the quiet strength of someone who knows that beginning again is always possible.
May you move through this day without leaving yourself behind.
May you remember to breathe before you rush.
To listen before you push.
To offer yourself the same gentleness you so freely give to others.
And when the world becomes loud,
May you remember the quiet place within you.
The place where you can pause.
The place where you can listen.
The place where you can begin again.
You do not have to find your way through the entire day right now.
You only have to take the next step.
And when you are ready,
You can take that step from here.
Grounded.
Present,
And a little more connected to yourself.
Welcome to your day.
And may you remember,
Wherever it takes you.
You can always come back to yourself.
