This meditation is about anchoring in gratitude during anxiety.
In this meditation we will explore how gratitude can be an anchor,
Offering a sense of steadiness when anxiety feels overwhelming.
You don't need to change anything about your experience right now.
Just be here,
Exactly as you are.
Find a comfortable seat or lie down in a way that allows you to feel supported.
Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze and take a deep breath in and a long breath out.
Let's begin by noticing how you're feeling right now.
Without judgment,
Just observe what's present in your body and mind.
You might notice tension,
Restlessness,
Or a racing mind.
Simply acknowledge these feelings with compassion.
There's no need to fix them or push them away.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest,
Or the coolness of the air entering your nostrils.
Let this rhythm anchor you in the present moment.
You don't need to control the breath,
Just observe it.
As you continue to breathe,
Silently say to yourself,
Thank you for this breath.
With each inhale,
Receive the gift of air,
And with each exhale,
Release tension.
If your mind wanders to anxious thoughts,
That's okay.
Gently bring it back by repeating,
Thank you for this breath.
You can even place a hand over your heart to deepen the connection to this moment of gratitude.
Now bring to mind something simple that you feel grateful for in this moment.
It might be the warmth of a blanket,
The sound of rain,
Or the presence of your breath.
Let this thought fill your heart.
Silently say,
Thank you.
Feel the sense of gratitude expanding like a soft light radiating from your heart,
Bringing calm and steadiness to every part of your body.
If anxiety is still present,
That's okay.
Let it be there.
But also notice that gratitude is present too.
You can hold both.
Each time you return to gratitude,
You're building a bridge from fear to calm,
From scarcity to abundance.
Take one more deep breath in,
And slowly exhale.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Carry this sense of gratitude with you today,
Knowing that it is always available as an anchor,
Even in difficult moments.
Thank you.
Be well.
