Welcome to your daily meditation.
Today you might want to practice outside or perhaps near a window.
Sitting comfortably in a tall upright position allow your shoulders to be soft and see if you can lengthen your neck here.
Notice if your weight distribution in your seat is balanced.
Are you leaning more to one side,
More forward,
Or more back?
Try to find your center here.
Option to close the eyes or even let the lids close at halfway.
And if the eyes remain open,
Softening the gaze.
Take a nice deep breath through the nose and a long exhale again through the nose.
Your hands can be placed upon the thighs or knees,
Feeling the weight of your hands here.
Feeling your body connect to your seat or to the ground.
Soften the abdomen.
Take in another conscious breath and exhale.
Continuing this flow of breath throughout your practice today.
And when you find that your attention is taken away from this present moment,
Bring it back.
Bring it back to the sensation of breath entering through your nostrils,
Gently allowing the air to fill up your abdomen and your chest.
Maybe even lifting and creating a little bit more expansion through the collarbones.
And then watching it escape through the way it came in.
Today's meditation is focused on finding strength and energy from the sun.
I invite you in today's practice to bring to mind what the sun actually looks like.
Some of us may envision golden crisp colors or yellow,
Orange,
Red.
A color that perhaps now radiates out and is kind of hazy.
Visualizing this immense round star shining above you.
The sun plays such an important role in our lives and in all of life on this planet we call Earth.
For example,
Supporting Mother Nature,
The growth of all plants.
And it's through this support of the sun that we can enjoy and be nurtured through its vegetation.
The sun has this incredible ability to give off its warmth as well,
Keeping us nice and toasty in the winter.
Or perhaps revitalizing our bodies in the summer through its glow.
I invite you here and now to visually imagine or even feel the sensations of the powerful mighty sun.
Staying with your breath.
Take a deep breath in and exhale to empty.
As you stay present in this moment,
Bring to mind the sunlight.
This characteristic awakens us,
Sets the course of our day and helps us to measure time and its passing.
It also allows us to see and therefore appreciate all the beautiful things that surround us.
In this moment,
I welcome you to feel the warmth.
Feel the light.
The power of the sun.
As if its rays are radiating through the crown of your head,
Surging into your body,
Into your skin.
Energizing you for this moment and the next moments.
Feeling the energy of the sun may enable you to come forward into the world a little bit stronger,
More resilient,
With more life and lightness.
It's just like a reminder to shine brightly.
Basking in the golden rays,
Knowing that you can return to this meditation or this experience at any point in your day.
Staying here for 10 more conscious breaths coming in and exiting.
With every breath coming in,
May you feel the warmth and light.
May you take in the rays and colors,
Allowing them to come into every cell of your being and to extend beyond you like an aura.
A glowing radiating outline.
A glow that surfaces from your skin.
May each breath bring in more joy,
Movement,
And ease into your body.
And with every exhale,
May you let go,
As if the heat of the sun is burning off anything that doesn't serve you.
When you're done those 10 breaths,
Sit.
Take it in.
Take in all the gifts offered through and by the sun.
Wishing you strength,
Light,
And love.
