Hey,
This is Kima.
Welcome to today's root chakra balancing meditation.
Let's get comfy,
Whatever that means to you,
And magnify our sense of grounding and security.
When you've settled in,
Take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And another slow,
Deep breath in.
And letting something go as you exhale.
Allowing yourself to root into the space that you've settled into today.
We're starting at the base of the body,
Both literally and energetically.
This space is associated with grounding,
Security,
Stability.
So whether you've chosen to lie down or sit up for the duration of this meditation,
Just allowing whatever is touching the earth to really sink into the earth.
And feeling your connection with the ground beneath you.
Whether that's your sit bones,
Your feet,
Or your entire back body.
Simply allowing yourself to sink in.
Beginning to imagine you can actually grow roots from that which is touching the earth.
Imagining yourself growing deeper and deeper into the floor beneath you.
And as you settle deeper,
You actually begin to rise taller in your seat,
Or more relaxed as you lie down.
Feeling the support,
The security.
Noticing how it feels to be connected with the earth.
Start to imagine a place that you feel connected to.
It could be the desert,
A jungle,
A forest.
Somewhere in nature where you can be still.
Noticing the temperature of the earth beneath you,
The textures,
The sounds,
Maybe even the taste.
Just allowing yourself to settle deeper and deeper into this ecosystem.
And on your next inhale,
Inviting the word I am.
And on your exhale,
Grounded.
So inhaling the words I am and exhaling the word grounded.
I am grounded.
And allowing this affirmation to circulate quietly in your mind,
Linking to your inhales and your exhales.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
Your mind may start to wander and that is okay,
You're just bringing it back to this affirmation.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
I am grounded.
Gently beginning to let go of that mantra or affirmation and come back to the natural flow of your breath.
Just noticing every inhale and every exhale.
Just simply watching yourself breathe.
And as you're ready,
Slowly starting to deepen your inhales and your exhales.
And beginning to bring your awareness to the room around you,
Keeping your eyes closed.
Just noticing how your body feels in space in this moment.
Just checking in with your physical body.
And as you're ready,
Slowly beginning to wiggle the fingers and the toes,
Taking some circles with the ankles,
The roots.
Maybe stretching out whatever feels natural and organic to you.
And slowly starting to open your eyes.
