Hello my friends,
My name is Kalyani,
And I invite you to join me for a short and sweet,
Powerful break from your day.
Allow each mindful minute practice to be a soft landing,
A gentle reorientation,
A way of remembering ourselves in the midst of the chaos of everyday life,
Bringing peace to your mind and ease to your body.
As we work together to regulate our nervous system in small,
Bite-sized practices,
You deserve this time to feel better.
Today's topic is releasing the fear of recurrence.
The c-word holds power over us,
Even after we have beaten it,
But there are ways you can take your power back after cancer.
Give yourself a moment to label how you are feeling right now,
No judgment,
Simple awareness.
Are you in anxiety,
Fear,
Disbelief?
Are you stuck ruminating in the what-ifs and worst-case scenarios?
Allow yourself to be fully present with how you are feeling,
Then become aware of what has changed in your breath,
And what has changed in your body with those thoughts.
Now together,
Let's take a moment to unplug from fear,
Or as Wayne Dyer used to say,
False evidence appearing real.
Inviting our breath to become slow and steady,
Finding a comfortable pace as your breath just naturally slows down.
Setting the tone of being patient with yourself,
Giving yourself grace.
Remember this is a judgment-free zone.
There are no expectations of you,
And there is nowhere else you need to be.
Give yourself permission to be fully present,
Giving yourself the gift of your awareness for this little sliver of time.
Right here,
Right now,
In this moment,
All is well.
Feel that truth spreading throughout your mind and body.
Seeing yourself as whole,
Healthy,
And happy.
Feeling your body alive and well.
Forgive yourself for falling into the trap of fear once more.
Imagine it's a warm spring day,
And we are comfortably floating in a small wooden boat on a calm mountain lake.
The air is crisp and clean,
The smell of wildflowers blending with hope and possibilities.
The water,
Like glass,
Mirroring the puffy white clouds of thought passing by overhead.
The breeze carries them away,
No need to hold them,
No need to attach emotions to them.
Simply notice that a thought rises up and is gently ushered away by the wind,
Dropping the anchor of our breath into the turquoise depths below.
Watch it as it drifts down,
Down,
Down to rest on the sandy bottom,
Holding us steady,
Safe and at ease,
Gently rocking us back and forth,
A rhythmic motion of soothing.
We are held and supported,
As the birds overhead sing their happy little song.
The gentle breeze whispers to your soul,
Yesterday is over,
No need to look back,
Tomorrow will never unfold in just the way you imagined,
Worrying robs you of your peace in the present moment.
Stay here now,
Feeling happy,
Feeling supported and at ease,
Hold on to this feeling,
Turning to gratitude,
Grateful for this healthy body,
Grateful to this mind at peace,
Breathing in ease,
Breathing out worry,
Allowing your breath to find its own rhythm,
Sending gratitude into your body and mind,
For the ability to pause the busyness of your day for this brief moment of awareness and release.
Have a great day my friends.
