Arriving With All My Parts: An IFS-Inspired Meditation
by Kali Basman
Before any meaningful practice begins, there is a simple invitation to arrive. This short guided meditation offers a way to settle out of habitual thinking and return to the hara—the body's energetic center just below the navel, long honored in Buddhist practice as the seat of stability, presence, and embodied awareness. Rather than pushing thoughts away, this practice welcomes every part of you. The planner. The problem solver. The professional. The part that's already thinking about what comes next. Together, they are invited to rest in the deeper ground of awareness. In this guided practice, you'll explore: —Grounding awareness in the hara (lower dantian) —Using the breath to move from the head into the body —An IFS-informed approach to welcoming all parts of yourself —Returning to the present moment with compassion —Beginning meditation or yoga from a place of embodied presence "This very place is the lotus land. This very body, the Buddha."
