Welcome to investigating the inner methods.
This is a meditation for balance.
And today we'll intermingle the intelligence arenas of our yin and yang centers in the body.
So the low belly,
Or the hara space,
As the yin center and the heart as the yang center.
We'll take an interest in both of these wisdom dimensions.
Because the inter-dialogue of belly and heart,
These vital pulse points,
Create an overall balance in the system.
So too much yang,
We become agitated,
Frustrated,
Anxious.
Too much yin,
We tend towards lethargy,
A dullness,
A depression.
So close the eyes and greet your whole living,
Breathing being.
Meet yourself here at the altar of the sacred.
Just taking an interest in your inner life.
And we'll visit the home of the yin essence first,
The feminine principle of our low belly center.
For women this also incorporates the womb space.
Pausing to soften and connect at the low belly,
The hara.
This is an open,
Clear,
Awake field.
There's no effort involved in arriving here.
It's like an undoing,
A release,
A surrender.
So pay particular attention to the yin experience of the exhalation.
Notice three out breaths at the low belly.
How each exhale serves to soften and widen the hara.
This is the rich inner pool of our life force,
Our willpower.
And again,
That ease of being is our baseline.
We don't have to effort or build our center.
It's always there.
And then there's the cultivation or the building,
The efforting of the yang center,
The masculine principle is in the heart space.
Related to the inhale.
So we'll take a breath up and through the heart.
The qualities of the heart view,
Compassion,
Curiosity,
Calmness,
Kindness.
Noting three rounds of respiration into the heart.
Each inhale lifts the heart space past the boundary of the skin.
This radiance that exists here,
Noting the inhale.
And now we'll work to balance the two.
So there's a tendency to fall out of balance with either one.
And we'll use the yin sight at the hara and inhale from the heart down into low belly.
Send the breath down on the inhalation.
And then exhale,
Draw the yin space up to the yang sight.
So from the belly up to the heart.
Inhaling from the heart to the hara.
Soothing the sometimes erotic yang energy to the cool pool at the center.
And then exhale and lift the yin energy,
Which can also be imbalanced and manifest as a depressed state.
So add some buoyancy and light as it reaches up into the tendrils of the heart.
Inhaling heart to hara.
Exhaling hara to heart.
And now we'll add breath retention.
Because it's the holding space at the top and bottom of the breath,
So when we're full and empty,
That's when the healing is most potent,
Can really take root.
So inhale from the heart down to low belly and pause.
Feel full at the belly center,
The lungs are filled to the very base of the ribcage,
The diaphragm drops down to create more space for the low belly to expand.
Feel the swirling of yang energy at the yin site.
And now exhale,
Draw the yin up from the hara to the divine heart realm and hold.
Feel the heart spacious and open like the sky.
The swirling of soft,
Wispy cirrus clouds,
So delicate features that float across the heart,
Just watching them in an open space.
And one more time,
Inhaling heart down to hara and hold.
Feel the content,
The richness,
The pulse of life force balancing yin and yang at the center residence.
And then exhale,
Hara back up to the heart.
Awakening the heart-mind,
Compassionate,
Radiant center at the top of the exhale.
Release the patterns of the breath now.
Just feel the whole torso,
The belly and the heart in its inter-dialogue,
Balanced,
Vibrant,
And at ease.
