Transcript
Welcome to this practice that will help to clear your mind and recharge your energy.
Prepare for yoga nidra by finding a comfortable position,
Lying down.
You might want a cushion or a bolster underneath your knees,
Maybe a small roll or support underneath your neck.
Covering the eyes can be helpful and finding a blanket or a cover over the body as you will cool down during this practice.
Have the legs slightly apart,
Arms slightly away from the body,
Palms face up with a natural curl to the fingers.
The spine is long,
Back of the neck is long and the head rests heavy down into the support beneath.
Softening the facial muscles,
The jaw and letting the tongue rest in the base of the mouth.
Whole body relaxed.
With the eyes closed,
Bring your awareness to the room that you're in,
Sensing and seeing the room and the environment that you're in with the eyes closed.
Aware of the walls,
The windows,
The ceiling and anything else that stands out in your awareness.
Then relaxing the eyeballs,
Feeling the left eye melt back down into its socket and the right eyeball melt back down into the socket.
Both eyes softening and resting their effort to see,
Resting the effort of looking as the eyes relax.
Softening left inner ear and right inner ear.
Sense of hearing opening and picking up on the sounds around you.
Aware of sounds in the distance.
Aware of sounds in the room.
Aware of sounds within your physical body.
Sound of the heart beating,
Sound of the breath.
Listening to the inner experience,
Not just with your ears,
But with your whole being.
Sensing the breath as it comes in long,
Slow and deep into the belly.
And feeling a gentle release on the exhale,
Sensing the whole body soften and let go.
Listening to the expansion of the body as the breath comes into the belly.
And the relaxation through the face,
The torso and the legs as the breath releases.
With this same awareness,
As you rotate your consciousness through the body,
Bring awareness to the inside of each body part as I name it.
Bringing your full attention and feeling to that point.

Sensing the whole front body.
Sensing the whole front body and the whole back body at the same time,
Including the left side of the body and the right side of the body.
Aware of the whole body,
The whole body as a field of sensation.
Become aware of the sensation of the breath that is happening in the body without your effort.
Noticing the breath coming and going of its own accord.
For a few breaths counting down from the number 12,
With each exhale silently saying to yourself,
Exhaling 12.
On the next exhale,
Exhaling 11,
And so on.
If you lose your count,
Just start again at 12.
There's nowhere to get to.
With each exhale,
Feel yourself becoming lighter,
Releasing any stress or tension down into the earth.
Allowing yourself to let go into rest.
You can release the counting and the effort of the breath.
Bring your awareness up to the space behind the mind.
And looking forward from the back of the mind,
Looking deeply forward to the front of the forehead.
Allow any thought or form or content to appear here on the screen of your mind.
Looking from behind,
Allowing any content to appear here on the screen of your mind.
Observing with detached awareness.
And then release the looking and bring the awareness from the mind.
And then release the looking and bring the awareness from the mind down into the center of the chest to the heart center.
Landing in the heart center,
Center of the chest.
Visualize and feel yourself living your best life.
See and feel yourself happy,
Healthy,
Vibrant,
Fulfilled in every way.
See and feel what this would be like if it was already true.
Let that feeling,
The images,
The sensations of you living your best life,
Let that feeling get bigger.
Let that sensation open up in your whole body,
Amplifying the vibration of fulfillment,
Health,
Happiness and well-being.
See it and feel it as if it's here now.
And then give thanks that this is so.
Feel the gratitude that this is so.
You would feel for this already being true.
And taking a gentle,
Deep breath into the belly.
And exhaling,
Slowly returning your awareness into your physical body.
Breathing down into fingers and toes.
And calling all of your awareness back into your physical body.
When you're ready,
Finding some gentle movement in the fingers and the toes,
The wrists and the ankles.
You might reach your right arm overhead and roll onto your right side,
Just resting there for a few moments.
And when you're ready to do so,
Gently sitting up and taking a few moments just to pause before you move on with the rest of your day.
May peace and grace be with you as you continue on.
