Yoga Nidra For Energy Reset
This yoga nidra practice includes bumble bee breath and counted breath. Both serve to bring awareness of our energy body, bringing out an energy change. We also work with intention in this yoga nidra.
Transcript
Hi everyone,
Welcome to this Yoga Nidra meditation by JPG Yoga.
And before we begin,
Just want to invite you to set up a space where you're lying down with something under your head,
Like a thin pillow,
And something under the knees,
Like a cushion or a yoga bolster or rolled blanket.
Once you're there,
Begin by taking full breaths in,
Exhaling through the mouth,
Using your breath to arrive here in this moment,
Breathing like so for two more rounds on your own.
Ahh.
Then allowing your breath to be completely on its own here,
Falling into its own natural rhythm with no effort and no intention to change it.
Notice where you feel the sensations of breathing,
Whether in the nostrils,
In the belly,
Or perhaps in the chest and rib cage.
Simply be aware of the rhythmic quality as the breath comes in and as the breath leaves the body.
Noticing natural pauses or spaces after the inhale and after the exhale.
And noting perhaps a relaxing quality to the exhalation.
Now listen to the sound of om,
Perhaps joining me.
Om.
Allowing the vibration of om to settle in.
And keeping your body still,
Allowing the chatter of the mind to quiet.
Let go of all thoughts,
Worry,
And tension.
Relax,
Trust,
And let go.
Perhaps feeling a sense of contentment as you give the gift of these next moments to practice and call to mind an intention for yourself.
If you're unclear of the intention,
Just see what appears into the field of awareness.
Maybe a word,
A feeling,
Or just a short phrase.
Repeat your intention silently three times.
Bring your awareness back into the body,
Recognizing it supported you in all of your contributions and accomplishments.
But at this time,
Your body needs rest.
Allow it to come to stillness in a state of non-doing.
For this next part of the yoga nidra practice,
We'll practice the bumble bee breath.
You may want to cover your eyes with your hands and use your thumbs to cover your ears or just keep your arms by your sides.
Relax.
In a moment,
We'll breathe in and hum the sound of the bumble bee several times with closed lips.
Now take a breath in and follow me.
Inhale and exhale.
One last round.
And bring your total undivided attention to your whole body as you notice sensation,
Vibration throughout your whole body.
Notice how your attention feeds your energy.
Energy field extending everywhere,
Filling every nerve and cell of your body.
And bring your attention to your eyebrow center.
And fall into the silence and stillness within.
Feel yourself descending down into the stillness beneath the mind.
Release any struggle to make anything happen.
Allow the commentary of the mind to dissolve into sensation.
And as we enter into this next phase of yoga nidra,
Remain as motionless as possible.
If you need to make an adjustment,
Do so and return to stillness as soon as you can.
If at any point you become uncomfortable and need to end this practice early,
Open the eyes and take a look around the room.
Otherwise allow yourself to remain in touch with the sound of my voice,
Responding with your entire body nonmentally.
Shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.
Now direct your attention to your breath.
Start to inhale and exhale,
Letting your breath be steady,
Uniform,
Unbroken,
And continue until asked to stop.
Bring your attention to the expansion and contraction of your abdomen as you breathe in and out.
With each exhalation,
Letting go of holding in the body.
We'll continue with 10 more slow,
Deep breaths,
Counting them like this.
10.
I am breathing in.
10.
I am breathing out.
Nine.
I am breathing in.
Nine.
I am breathing out.
And continue until asked to stop.
Be absorbed in the sound of your own breath.
Allow to be relaxed and peaceful.
Now allow your breath to return to normal.
Feel the energetic impact of this breathing,
The form of pulsation.
Experience the energy field and let your mind mount and merge into this river of energy flowing through the body.
Drop into that silent space where all doing stops.
Enter an effortless state of being.
Now follow my guidance as we move our attention through different parts of the body that you're attention rests on each body part as I name it without comment or judgment.
All 10 toes.
Both angles.
Both knees.
Pelvis.
Chest.
Shoulders.
Arms.
Throat.
Chin.
Face.
Head.
Back of head.
Shoulder blades.
Back.
Head.
Toxics.
Calves.
Heels.
Soles of the feet.
Experience the whole body from the top of the head to the tips of the toes.
Feel the whole body contained in vast spacious awareness.
Now bring your attention to the center between your eyebrows and drop into the deepest level of relaxation.
Here there is nothing to do.
Nothing to achieve.
You've entered the domain of grace.
You're a witness to all that is happening and doing nothing to make it happen.
Hand over fear and anxiety.
Let go of all that you want to change or control.
Let go of all doing.
And feel yourself as time transcended presence right now.
Now bring your attention into your awareness and repeat it to yourself three times.
If you do not have an intention,
Just remain silent.
Allow this intention to go to the deepest levels of recognition.
There's no need for you to do anything about it.
Bring your attention back to your center between your eyebrows.
All the energies in the meridians of your body are activated,
Purified and balanced.
Life force is flowing freely through you.
In the body calming the mind.
Allow your entire self to respond to these words.
I return to the innate wisdom of my body to heal itself.
I remain in restful awareness.
I return to the innate wisdom of my body to heal itself.
I remain in restful awareness.
I return to the innate wisdom of my body to heal itself.
I remain in restful awareness.
Return to the third eye where all of your energy meridians come into deep unification.
Establish a whole new relationship with reality.
Right response and right action will come through you.
Keep your heart open to all conditions.
Now you've prepared the base from where you can carry out interactions in life with the integrative power of love.
Now begin to become aware of the rising and falling of the breath.
Feel yourself beginning to rise to the surface of awareness.
Sense the body resting in space.
Quality of the air as it touches the skin.
Gradually moving as if you're waking from a restful sleep.
Bend the knees,
Place the feet flat and rock your legs sideways gently,
Taking your time.
There's no rush.
Turning onto your right side and curl into a fetal position,
Feeling the safety and comfort of this position.
Bring your intention into your awareness again and remember there's nothing you need to change.
Every time you find yourself in reactionary mode,
You can come back to this intention.
Now become aware of your body,
Perhaps pressing up to a seat.
As you bring attention back to the body,
Notice how relaxed it is.
Notice the quality of the breath.
Notice the space of the mind.
Notice the heart.
And if it feels intuitive for you,
Place the hands either in prayer position or on the heart.
And perhaps feel gratitude for this time that you took for yourself to re-energize,
To come back to your home.
If you'd like to,
You can join in a deep breath with Aum with me.
Aum.
Thank you.
Take care.
