Hi,
My name is Josh and this is a guided meditation for stress relief,
Specifically for the end of the day or maybe for the end of the week or whenever you need to just take 10 minutes and tune back in to that natural sense of restoration that we can all find within us.
So I invite you now to find a quiet space where you can be for the next 10 minutes uninterrupted and find a comfortable seat or maybe even lying down.
And once you're ready I invite you to close your eyes.
And simply notice what's happening in your body right now.
Noticing the energetic state that we're currently in.
And maybe there's some busyness in our mind or some tension in the body.
And that's okay.
This is just our starting point for today.
And that up until now you may have been feeling a certain way with a certain amount of stress or tension.
But as we intentionally ask our body to release and relax,
We'll notice how that changes.
Allowing your breath to be smooth and soft,
Gentle and easy coming in and out.
Allow the muscles of your face to soften.
Relaxing your eyes,
Your mouth,
Your jaw.
Relaxing your neck and shoulders,
Your belly and back.
With each exhale allow a sense of release to wash over your body.
From head to hips,
From hips to feet.
Allow your body to rest into the support of whatever you're resting on.
And as we come to rest our body,
We may notice the mind still in a state of movement,
Of doing.
Don't resist that movement.
We can imagine our mind like a ceiling fan that we've just turned off.
But the fan still spins for a minute or two as it loses momentum.
Simply let it be,
Tune in to the sense of breath in your belly.
Allow yourself to feel at rest as you exhale.
With each exhale we can notice that the muscles are beginning to let go.
That the tension we felt begins to fade.
Gently and easily we allow ourselves to begin to rest and find a sense of relief here.
And as you listen to my voice and feel your body relax into your seat,
The whole body begins to feel a sense of ease,
A sense of quiet and balance.
And we can allow that sense to grow.
With each exhale we can feel our body unwind and let go.
And as you listen to my voice and feel your body relax into your seat,
The whole body unwinds.
Each exhale deepens our sense of relaxation.
And we begin to feel our body lighter as if we were floating now on water.
As we drift allow your mind to drift as well.
You don't need to pay attention.
You can simply exist and be with this sense of ease.
Alright.
Let's take a couple of minutes to gently and easily begin to come back into our wakeful state.
Wiggling our fingers and toes,
Allowing our head to move,
Maybe even taking a little stretch or yawn,
Feeling how our energy is shifted.
And as you gently blink open the eyes,
We can still carry this feeling of ease,
Of rest,
Of relaxation into the rest of our day.
So thank you for taking a few minutes to practice being instead of doing.
