
Fire Ceremony (Letting Go) Meditation

This practice can be used for the full moon or anytime you are desiring to create a sacred container for yourself to let go. Allow the whole process of transformation be one that opens your heart, your eyes and your mind. You can use this practice to support your personal and spiritual growth .

Hi,
It's Jordana here.
Today I'm going to guide you in meditation using the imagery of fire.
We'll burn away limiting beliefs,
Detrimental habits,
And negative conditioning.
We'll expel all that doesn't serve your peak self to the fire.
It's a process of releasing and,
Like in the Hindu fire ceremony or Native American tradition of sweat lodge,
We'll let go again and again into the fire until the energetic grip of what's weighing us down loses its hold.
Fire is the element of supreme transformation.
The five basic elements are earth,
Water,
Fire,
Air,
And ether.
Fire is the only element that cannot be polluted by impurities.
Fire has the ability to transform the other elements.
It is the element of purification.
In this meditation,
I'll guide you through fire building breath to cleanse from the inside out.
Then we'll bring in components from fire ceremony to let go and purify.
Mina Om,
A Sufi mystic and philosopher,
Shares that the Hindu fire ceremony is performed for internal growth,
For purity,
For health,
And long life.
Through the ceremony,
There's the ability to expand one's own thoughts to make them universal.
Through your own thoughts and actions,
You can bring about the betterment for all beings.
Let's get primed for our meditation,
Our own ceremony.
Sit comfortably and tall.
Lengthen your spine.
Close your eyes.
Bring relaxation to your brow,
To your eyeball sockets.
Relax your jaw and your tongue.
Inhale and exhale and ah.
Resolve any expectation from your body.
Breathing.
In a few moments,
We'll practice breath of fire.
Breath of fire is used to warm the body and to aid in detoxification and removal of impurities,
Both on a physical and energetic level.
This breath can bring about clarity so that you can work with your mind to release entrenching,
Limiting beliefs.
We work with a sharp exhale.
It gets its power from the belly as it moves energy and breath out through the nostrils.
During the practice,
Your lips are together and your mouth is gently closed.
As you exhale,
Your belly will pull inward and air will move swiftly out of your nose.
You'll allow inhales to come naturally to fill the belly before you actively push the exhale out from the belly through the nose.
The breath sounds like this.
Go ahead and test it out two or three times.
Good.
The action of this breath invigorates the internal organs and generates heat from within.
In a few moments,
We'll do three rounds of this breath.
In the first two rounds,
We'll go for 30 seconds.
In between rounds,
We'll take deep,
Clearing breaths.
We'll finish with one 45-second round,
Followed by a gentle holding of the breath and stillness.
I'll guide you through it.
So take a deep inhale and exhale,
Side out.
And another inhale,
Exhale,
Side.
After the next inhale,
We'll begin.
IN memorial,
The spirit of constituencies forces on us to Return to normal breathing.
Take a few clearing breaths.
And we'll start round two on the next inhale.
Taking an inhale now and begin.
And begin.
Back to normal breathing.
Take a few clearing breaths.
After this last and longest round,
We'll do a short retention of the breath.
I'll guide you.
Now taking your inhale and begin.
Inhale deeply.
Hold the breath.
Hold for as long as is comfortable for you.
Without strain.
Retaining the breath.
Whenever you're ready to release the breath,
Exhale out through the mouth.
Enjoy the exhale.
When it comes,
Letting go.
Experience your stillness.
A quiet from the inside out.
Breathing normally.
Peacefully.
Imagine yourself in front of a fire.
This fire is contained by a ring of rocks.
Its flames are tall and powerful.
You stretch your arms out and you can feel the warmth in this fire on the palms of your hands.
You aren't alone here at this fire.
You are contained by community.
By others on this path.
By your ancestors.
As you breathe in,
Fill yourself with support.
You are safe here.
You are free to express.
To release.
To let go.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Choosing to let go of judgment.
Let judgment be the first offering to the fire.
As you breathe in,
Recalling the feeling of judgment.
As you breathe out,
Let go of judgment into the fire.
In fire ceremony,
Your limiting beliefs become an offering that you can give to the fire.
You give it again and again and again.
Breathing into your heart.
Surface the question.
What do you choose to let go of?
On a scale from one to ten,
How ready are you to release this belief or story?
What would your life be like without this belief or story?
Now,
Without judgment,
Commit it to the fire.
Throw it to the flames and feel it disintegrate from your being.
Notice any tingling sensations as the belief or story continues to release itself from your conscious mind,
Your subconscious mind,
And your cellular memory.
What have you let go of?
Repeat it in your mind and see it burn away from your existence.
Breathing into your heart.
There's more to let go of.
As you sit in community at this fire,
Know that you are held and supported.
Know that this community,
That your ancestors and all who surround you,
Support you in wanting what is best for you.
Let the question surface again.
What do you choose to release?
On a scale from one to ten,
How ready are you to release this belief or story?
What would your life be like without this belief or story?
Now,
Without judgment,
Commit it to the fire.
Throw it to the flames.
Feel it disintegrate from your being.
Notice any sensations or warmth or tingling as the belief or your story continues to release itself from your conscious mind,
Your subconscious mind,
And your cellular memory.
What have you let go of?
Repeat it in your mind.
All that you let go of,
These limiting beliefs,
Stories you've made up,
Patterns you play out that don't serve you.
They don't belong to you.
Allow this letting go to purify you,
To be a returning to who you truly are.
Repeating in your mind now as you rapidly release all that does not serve you.
I'll ask you to bring to mind what you choose to release.
Without deliberation,
Let whatever arises come up.
And just as quickly as it does,
You'll let it go into the fire and we'll begin again.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Inhaling,
Bring to mind what do you choose to release?
Exhaling,
Let it go into the fire.
Inhaling,
What do you choose to release?
Exhaling,
Let it go into the fire.
Inhaling,
What do you choose to release?
Exhaling,
Let it go into the fire.

What do you choose to release?
Exhaling,
See it go,
Burn in the fire.
Inhaling,
What do you choose to release?
Exhaling,
Let it go,
See it burn.
What do you choose to release?
Take a moment,
See all of the limiting beliefs,
All of the stories and the patterns.
See them pile up like kindling for the flames.
Put words on each piece of kindling.
Creating a stack.
All of your stories.
All that no longer serves you.
And in one swoop,
See yourself launch this kindling into the fire and see the sparks fly high.
Letting go,
All this does not belong to you.
Exhaling.
Exhaling.
Softening.
Inhaling,
Seeing the fire dim down just a bit.
And allow a sense of sweetness to enter your awareness.
A tender feeling.
Allow this feeling to pervade through you.
And now imagine that there's a loved one with you now.
Someone who loves you very much and with whom your relationship is uncomplicated.
Maybe they're a child in your life.
They may be living or they may have passed on.
Take a moment to imagine this person coming to be with and comfort you now.
Feel the compassionate presence of this person as they gaze into your eyes lovingly.
This person sees you for who you truly are.
They are proud of who you are.
In their presence,
You know that you need not do anything at all to be worthy and whole.
Exactly as you are,
You are a ray of perfect creation.
You are worthy of living an abundant and blessed life.
You are a light so bright and you are bliss that never ends.
Inhale into this infinite state of peace.
Take these moments now in undisturbed tranquility.
You are a light so bright and you are bliss that never ends.

As you breathe,
Anchor yourself in this feeling of harmony,
Bliss.
Freedom.
Joy.
Expansiveness.
You may continue to sit in this open state for however long you desire.
Whenever you feel ready,
You can take three deep breaths before you open your eyes with a smile.
Welcoming in the newness,
The openness,
The freedom,
The bliss of who you truly are.
You are a light so bright and you are bliss that never ends.
