Welcome!
In this guided sleep meditation you will intentionally slow down your racing mind,
Relax and stop overthinking.
You might be caught up in problem solving or in indecision.
Your mind may be racing because you do so much in so little time.
And yet sleep asks you to do one thing for such a long time.
And a part of you wants this so much.
To rest,
To drift,
To have peace for such a long time.
Your body knows how to sleep.
You can let the thoughts float by.
You don't need to catch them.
You don't need to finish them.
And soon there will be fragments of thoughts floating by and floating away.
You can train your brain to rest and receive the benefits of sleep.
So tomorrow you can be your best.
And sometime later,
Much later you will float gently back into tomorrow,
Refreshed,
Clear,
In a good mood.
But not yet.
Not just yet.
For now,
Drift,
Float and rest.
Give yourself permission to rest while awake.
Before you fall asleep,
Give yourself permission to rest while awake.
Now there is nothing else to do.
Nowhere else to go.
Following my voice,
You will let yourself drift,
Feeling lighter.
And sometime later,
Much later,
You will drift into tomorrow,
Feeling refreshed,
Feeling good.
But not yet.
Not just yet.
For now,
As if sailing across the sky on a soft cloud that somehow supports you completely,
You feel gentle breeze touching your skin.
As you drift away to sleep,
Where there is nothing but peace.
As you move your attention from your mind to your body,
You notice your chest rise and fall.
Rise and fall in a steady rhythm of peaceful inhales and exhales.
Your own inhales and exhales help you drift away to a place of tranquility.
Your own breath helps you drift away to a place of peace.
And just like wild horses that need space to slow down,
Like a car easing to a stop,
You are giving your mind the time and space to slow down.
And it's enough to have that intention,
Intention to gently press the brakes.
Counting slowly from five to one,
You can come to a complete stop when driving,
So you can slow down your thoughts and simply drift.
5.
Slowing down.
4.
Deeper and deeper.
3.
Relaxing physically.
2.
Relaxing mentally.
1.
Relaxing totally.
And the tension in your body is fading away.
As you relax the muscles of your face,
As you relax the muscles of your shoulders,
Taking a belly breath,
Relaxing your abdomen,
Sending the relaxation down to your legs.
Your own breath,
Relaxing like a waterfall.
Gently flowing down your head,
Your back,
Your arms,
Your legs.
You notice the air around you,
Cool,
Quiet and soothing.
The texture of the clouds,
Soft like cotton,
Warm like sunlit silk.
In the past,
You might have noticed that the faster you go,
The faster you want to go.
Set an intention to gently press the brakes to slow down,
To the pace of restful sleep.
Want that to happen.
And if another thought shows up,
No need to grab it.
No need to finish it.
It's okay to let go.
No need to know what it is about.
So naturally,
You lose interest in knowing.
Another one shows up and you let it go.
And that's how you let go of thinking when your mind wants to rest.
You don't finish the thoughts.
Let them arrive and let them fade.
Let them arrive and let them fade.
Fragments,
Images,
Words.
And as you let yourself drift in one direction and the thoughts float the other way,
You pass each other by with no interest until you rise above the level of thoughts,
Drifting away to bliss.
It's in the pause in between that you find what you need.
And in one of those pauses,
You fall asleep.
In one of them,
You fall into the pleasure of sleep,
Replacing the chatter with pleasant scenes in nature,
Dreamy scenes that bring pleasure to your senses.
Your body knows how to sleep.
You have done it so many times.
You might not even notice the moment it happens.
But you wonder,
Could it be any time soon?
But you rest while awake.
You give yourself permission to rest while awake.
Drifting above your thoughts,
Higher and higher.
The higher you go,
The further away overthinking becomes.
Drifting above your thoughts,
Higher and higher.
The higher you go,
The further away overthinking becomes.
Drifting above your thoughts,
Higher and higher.
The higher you go,
The further away overthinking becomes.
This cloud carries you to a dimension of sleep.
Where only peace exists.
Feeling supported and safe.
A thought floats by and you let it pass.
Words try to form,
But you lose interest.
You are somewhere better now.
In the realm of colors,
Timelessness,
Feelings.
Nothing to do,
No clock to check,
No thought to finish.
Let them arise and let them fade.
Let them arise and let them fade.
And sometime later,
Much later.
You will float gently back into tomorrow.
Refreshed,
Clear,
In good mood.
And sometime later,
Much later.
You will float into tomorrow.
Refreshed and clear.
But not yet.
Not just yet.
For now,
Drift,
Float,
Rest.
Your body knows how to sleep.
Drift,
Float,
And rest.
Your body knows how to sleep.
Drift,
Float,
And rest.
Your body knows how to sleep.
