This mindful posture meditation was created to help you become more aware of how you hold your body.
This can be done while sitting down.
So find a quiet and comfortable spot and sit down.
Your back can be supported by a chair if you wish.
If it is comfortable,
Sit with your legs crossed.
Place your hands in your lap.
Take a mindful breath here.
Deeply inhaling.
And fully exhaling.
Notice how your body moves as you do this.
And again,
Inhale.
And exhale.
Now lengthen your spine,
Making it tall.
Let's take another deep breath in.
And this time,
Exhale with a nice sigh.
Ahh.
Now relax your shoulders back and down.
Your chin should be parallel with the ground.
Allow your scalp and forehead,
Cheek muscles and jaw to relax.
Imagine a golden cord extending from the top of your head,
Reaching all the way up to the sky.
Allow your spine to be as straight as you can.
While your stomach muscles are relaxed.
Your legs and feet are relaxed as well.
Let's take another long,
Easy deep breath in.
And again,
Exhale it all out with a sigh.
As you sit in this position,
Your body is becoming open and expanded,
Allowing fresh oxygen to easily flow.
This fresh oxygen and posture awareness helps you to be more alert,
Focused and energized.
Take another long and slow inhale.
And a full and complete exhale,
Letting the breath go all the way to the ends of your feet.
I encourage you to become mindful of your body's posture throughout the day and notice how this feels for you.
Namaste.
