Go ahead and take a nice deep breath in all the way down your belly.
And slowly exhale.
Nice deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
Last one,
Deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
Keeping your spine nice and straight.
Go ahead and relax your shoulders.
Feel that relaxation move down your arms all the way to the ends of your fingers.
Keeping that breath low in the belly.
Just allowing that natural rhythm of breath to flow in and out of the body.
The breath should follow the rhythm of an ocean wave where the breath comes in,
The tide comes in.
The breath goes out,
The tide goes out.
Feel your jaw relax as you allow that breath to just take you deeper.
We're into that relaxed state.
Very present in your body.
I want you to visualize yourself standing on a path.
I don't need you to see anything else around you.
Just your feet.
Standing on this path.
Taking in the details of the earth.
Perhaps you're standing on brick or stone or dirt,
Sand.
Feel yourself connected to the earth,
The ground below you.
I want you to slowly raise your awareness.
Taking in the landscape directly around you.
Seeing the sounds of your environment.
Perhaps you're standing on a path in a tall forest.
You can hear the birds in the trees and the smell of earth in your nose.
As you face forward,
I do not want you to concern yourself with what is behind you.
We only know where we are and what we see in front of us.
I want you to begin walking forward,
Very conscious of your feet rising and falling and reconnecting with the earth as you take in more of the landscape around you.
As you walk,
I want you to notice any animals that may cross your path or birds that fly above you.
As you move along the path,
You'll notice that it's starting to slowly climb upwards,
Walking at a slight incline to the top of a hill.
You can see the landscape around you is beginning to change.
As you get to the top of the hill,
Or this small incline,
I want you to look across the landscape in front of you.
As you're standing there,
A small hand comes into contact with yours and you look down to see a child standing next to you,
Holding your hand and looking up with their gentle face at you.
This is a very special child and you may even recognize the face because it's you.
Together you're going to walk into this new landscape,
Hand in hand,
As they guide you and you guide them into something new.
I want you to begin walking that path again,
Feeling the ground level beneath you,
Taking your steps confidently forward,
Watching the landscape around you become clearer and clearer.
Directly in front of you,
You'll notice there's a door crossing the path.
Just place there,
Nothing else connected to it,
Just a door.
I want you to ask your younger self what they think you should do.
Do you turn around,
Do you stay where you are,
Do you go through the door,
Do you try to find a different path,
Do you go around the door?
Does the two of you stand there?
I want you to take in the details of the door.
Is there anything special about it?
Are there details that stand out?
Is it a particular color?
Still holding the hand of your younger self.
I want you to make the decision for the two of you to place your hand on the handle of the door and walk through.
We'll do it together on three,
Two,
One,
Walk through the door.
As you walk through the door,
You're no longer on the path,
But in a room.
The two of you observing a scene that's already happened.
A place you know,
A place you've been.
Maybe a place of joy,
Maybe sad memory,
But it's a place the two of you need to visit together to hold the other up,
To help the other remember or perhaps see something differently.
This is where I'll leave you for a while.
I'll call you back when it's time.
I know.
You While you're in this space,
There's an object or an item that stands out to you.
You may or may not be needing to take it back with you,
But I want you to remember it in your mind.
You may not be cataloging it.
Pay attention to the emotions that rise up in your body and watch your younger self as you move through this space,
Tracking their emotions as well.
This is your time to offer comfort,
Reassurance,
Love.
I want the two of you to walk back to the door,
Hand in hand.
Place your hand on the handle,
Three,
Two,
One.
Walk through the door,
Standing once again on the path together.
I want you to ask your younger self what they thought about that place and where you went,
How they felt when you were there.
This is not to relive,
But to change your perspective.
See things through a child's eyes as an adult.
Now I want you to give that child the things they need,
The things they need to hear,
Reassurance,
Love,
Understanding,
Acceptance.
From your pocket,
I want you to pull out a gift,
Place it in the hand of your younger self.
Giving them words of advice or encouragement or just extending love.
Taking their hand in yours,
I want the two of you to walk down the path together past the door that is now behind you and moving forward,
Feeling that earth under your feet.
I want you to notice the landscape around you diminishing and being replaced with only light.
Your heart is now off,
Also diminishing and turning into a ball of light which moves to face you.
Heart center merging with your own.
Take a nice deep breath in and slowly exhale.
Place your hands over your heart.
Just hold them there for a moment,
Extending love back to yourself,
Holding that light of your inner child within you.
Take a moment to reflect,
Set an affirmation for yourself,
Allow yourself to be emotional.
Take a nice deep breath in.
Slowly exhale.
When you're ready,
Go ahead and open your eyes and come back to me.
Well if you've completed today's meditation,
Thank you for joining me on that journey.
It can be very,
Very powerful to connect with our inner child.
There's so much healing that takes place when we reconcile our childhood or change our perspective of it.
Words that adults say,
Things that are learned,
The way we learn about love,
The way we learn to connect to others,
The way we learn to love ourselves,
All of that can take years to heal.
So I hope that this meditation helps you with some new awareness of self and bring that love back in for yourself so that you can heal moving forward.
As always,
I wish you all the best.
