Self Love
by Jill Lemke
In this meditation, you are guided to see yourself in three different ways. It is through this we can see what we truly are, how we see ourselves, and how another may see us. There is music in this meditation and I leave additional guidance at the end. Blessings!

Take a nice deep breath in and slowly exhale.
Deep breath in and slowly exhale.
Last one.
Deep breath in and slowly exhale.
Relax the breath,
Keeping it low in the belly.
Allow it to return to that nice natural flow,
That slow rhythm just like an ocean wave.
The tide comes in,
Breath comes in,
Tide goes out,
Breath goes out.
Go ahead and relax your shoulders.
Feel that relaxation move down your arms all the way to the ends of your fingers.
That slow rhythmic breath moving through the body,
Moving your mind's focus to your breath,
The way it moves through the body,
Expanding the lungs,
Pushing the belly and retracting,
Letting all those other external thoughts push to the side.
We're going to begin meditation today,
Visualizing our self in pure blackness.
We can feel our feet on the ground,
Connected to the earth.
Everything around us is dark.
I want you to notice that your hand is clenched shut and as you open your palm,
Spread your fingers,
You'll notice a small point of light sitting there on your hand,
Illuminating only the space around your hand.
Anything else around you is still in this place of darkness.
I want you to notice that while you're in this space,
You also don't hear anything else around you.
Like the light,
The sound is also dimmed,
As are your senses to it.
Now as we look at this light,
I want you to whisper things to it to help it grow,
Positive things,
Loving things.
Tell it how beautiful it shines,
How warm it is in your hand and watch it grow and expand,
Sitting like a blossoming flower and moving its light beyond your hand.
As you watch the light grow,
Continue to say these warm,
Loving,
Affirmative words until that light is completely surrounding you and the space that you're in.
I want you to notice that you're standing in a room and in front of you is a full-length mirror.
I want you to step forward so that you can see yourself fully in the mirror,
Taking in the image that's in front of you and the first impressions of self.
Do you see the image for what it truly is or some other version of it?
Is your image disfigured or is it perfect?
Is the image dark,
Hard to see or is it full of light?
Now as you're looking at that image,
Just as you did with the light,
I want you to say kind words and loving affirmations.
And watch the image change.
Just as the light expanded in your hand and filled the space in this room,
So does the image in the mirror change?
As you're holding that point of light in your hand,
I want you to bring it into your heart center allowing that light to fill your body.
Reaching out to your limbs and finding that illumination come within and expand out from your body,
Illuminating the space around you.
Now I want you to step in front of that mirror again and look at the image.
Now as you see yourself fully,
We're going to leave this room and step out into the world.
I want you to walk away from the mirror and find the door in this room.
Place your hand on the doorknob and from three to one,
We'll step through.
Three,
Two,
One.
Open the door and step through.
On the other side,
You could be absolutely anywhere.
A busy street,
Your childhood home,
Place in nature,
Anywhere.
What's most important is not where you are,
But who is standing next to you.
Child,
Your younger self,
This beautiful untethered soul,
The two of you begin to walk together.
I want you to notice the light within them and the things they chatter about.
I want you to ask them about their day,
What they love to do,
What makes them happy,
What makes them sad.
Who's their favorite person?
What do they want most in the whole world?
I'm going to leave the two of you to explore and talk.
I'll call you back when it's time.
Time is now.
Come on.
Before you go back to the room,
Your younger self has one more place to show you,
And a small gift to take back with you.
A way of remembering who you are,
Continuing to embody that light that's within you.
I want you to say goodbye to your younger self.
And find yourself standing once again in front of a door.
We'll count back from three to one and we'll walk through the door.
Three,
Two,
One.
Go ahead and step through the door and back into the room.
I want you to feel your feet standing once again on the floor,
Connected here.
Go ahead and take a nice deep breath in and slowly exhale.
Bring your hands into heart center.
Just take a moment to maybe give yourself an affirmation for the day.
Solidify those thoughts and memories from your meditation.
Extend love back to yourself.
Take a nice deep breath in and slowly exhale.
When you're ready,
Go ahead and open your eyes and come back to me.
Well,
I certainly hope that you are embodied with self-love after today's meditation,
Which is truly,
Truly,
Truly what it was about.
Seeing ourselves in different ways,
But really connecting them all to one and embodying that light and love for ourselves and becoming whole.
So in the beginning,
We see our light outside of ourselves and grow that light with love and positive affirmation.
And then we see an image of ourselves and change that image with positive affirmation,
Love,
Warmth.
And then we embody that light within and meet our younger self.
Typically,
When we see a younger version of ourselves,
They are this embodiment of joy.
They see the world through rose colored glasses.
They have big dreams.
They have beautiful things to say.
They're full of love.
And asking them about their friends and what they want to be when they grow up.
And who they love the most and who do they admire.
And what do they want if they could have anything.
Helps us to reconnect with that younger self within us,
That joy within us.
And really embody that state for ourselves as we leave meditation and move forward in our day.
So I hope you enjoyed today's meditation.
As always,
I hope it brings you wholeness.
And I wish you all the best.

For some odd reason it didn't take me back to younger child but my mother in law stood in her age version around me and we admired dresses, went on this nature walk, became butterflies and landed to hug a tree which I do daily lol. And before coming back she placed my hands on my heart and said she is right here. She then changed into her 50s look. She wants me to love myself as much as possible cause my husband is driving me crazy right now. She knows and she just wants to remind me who I truly am. When looking into future through mirror I was on stage sending out green and blue color to audience with her at my side smiling. Very interesting journey.
