When fear and anxiety arise,
Many times it's because you're worrying about something that may or may not happen in the future or something that has already happened in the past.
So here is a powerful practice that has really helped me bring me into this present moment.
Sitting or standing with your feet flat on the ground,
Put one hand on your belly and one hand on your chest.
Take a deep breath in through your nose down into your belly,
Moving the hand on your belly out as far as you can and then up to your chest and release.
Another deep breath in here,
Pushing that hand out on your belly as far as you can,
Then the hand on your chest and then release.
Now as you inhale,
Imagine yourself as a tree growing to the sky and as you exhale,
Imagine yourself as a tree growing roots into the ground.
Deep inhale in,
Feeling your branches reach up to the sky.
Big exhale,
Feeling yourself root into the ground.
Deep inhale,
Feeling yourself growing up to the sky.
Big exhale,
Grounding yourself in the earth beneath you.
Big inhale in,
Feeling that growth and expansion.
And big exhale,
Feeling that groundedness beneath you.
One last big inhale in,
Feeling all that energy move up through your body.
And then big exhale,
Feeling that energy move back down to the earth.
And now come to a place of stillness.
Release your hands.
And take a moment to feel the sensations moving throughout your body.
And then bring a smile to your face as you shift into the feeling of gratitude.
Grateful for taking the time to pause.
And grateful for being in this present moment.
One more deep breath in.
And release.
And come back to this practice whenever you need to ground yourself in this present moment.
It's time to step into your power.
