Everyone

This guided meditation combines slow, elongated breathing with a powerful happiness memory to lift your mood from the inside out. You’ll breathe from your feet all the way up to the top of your head, then connect with a time you felt truly happy—who you were with, where you were, and how it felt in your body. With each inhale, you build that feeling of joy within you; with each exhale, you send that happiness out into the world. Use this practice anytime you need to remember that joy is still available to you, right here, right now.

Let's begin the practice by getting into a comfortable position and then closing your eyes or gaze down.

And start to notice your breath as it goes in and out through your nose.

Not changing how you're breathing,

But just bringing your awareness to know you are breathing.

And from this place of awareness,

Let's now begin to elongate our breath with just a little bit more with each inhale and a little bit more with each exhale.

And now,

With each inhale,

I want you to feel as if you're pulling the air all the way up from the bottom of your feet,

Up through your knees,

Through your hips,

Your chest,

All the way up to your top of your head and then out through your nose.

And inhaling up from your feet,

All the way up to the top of your head and then letting go through your nose.

Really slowing down your breath,

Getting a little longer in your inhales and a little longer in your exhales,

Not feeling as if you're straining,

But just gently pushing a little bit more with each breath.

And now,

From this place of deep breathing and deep presence,

I want you to bring a smile to your face and a memory to your mind of a time where you were truly happy.

What did it feel like?

Where were you?

Who was around you?

And now,

With each inhale,

Start to feel that happiness build inside of you.

And with each exhale,

Feel as if you're sending that happiness out into the world.

And with each exhale,

Inhaling those feelings of happiness and exhaling,

Sending that happiness out in the world.

Continuing with the slow,

Deep breaths,

Feeling that happiness throughout every cell in your body,

And then releasing it to the world.

What a gift.

And now,

Let's take one final inhale in,

The deepest one yet,

And as you inhale,

Feel that happiness build and build and build,

And when you get to the top,

Hold it there.

Hold it there and feel the happiness build even more.

Feel it growing.

And when you can't hold it anymore,

Release all that happiness out into the world with a big sound of ah.

And then when you're ready,

You can wiggle your fingers and toes,

Flood your eyes open,

And carry this sense of happiness with you throughout your day.

It's time to step into your power.
