Welcome to today's practice where you'll use alternate nasal breathing to bring you into a state of calm.
For this breathing practice,
You will be closing one of your nostrils with your finger,
Inhaling,
And then closing your other nostril and exhaling.
You'll then inhale through that nostril,
Plug the other one,
And exhale and go back and forth.
I'll be guiding you all along the way.
So get into a comfortable position,
Either seated or standing up,
With your spine aligned vertically to the sky,
And take your finger and plug your right nostril.
Take a deep inhale in,
Down to your belly and up to your chest,
And now plug your other nostril and exhale.
Now inhale back up through that nostril,
Plug your other nostril,
And exhale.
Inhaling through that nostril,
And now switching and plugging and exhaling through your other one.
Inhaling up through that nostril,
Switching to plug the other one and exhale.
Inhale through that same nostril,
Switching to plug the other one and exhale.
Inhaling through that nostril,
Switching to plug the other one and exhaling through that nostril.
Now inhaling through that nostril,
Switching to plug the other one and exhale.
Now inhaling through that nostril,
Switching to plug the other one and exhale.
And now drop your hands and come to a place of stillness,
And take a moment to check in and see how you feel.
Perhaps you feel lighter,
More grounded,
More present.
And bring a smile to your face as you shift into the feeling of gratitude,
Grateful for choosing to practice today,
And grateful to bring in more calm energy into your life.
Now take a deep breath in,
And release,
And carry this energy into your day.
