We have all been familiar with the feeling of uncertainty at some point in our lives.
Some more often than others.
Perhaps it is a little droplet that falls from the sky once in a while.
Or a fabric of static that sticks to your skin.
It comes unannounced,
Uninvited.
You feel as if there are happy moments.
And all things seem to fall into place.
Desires gain momentum.
And all things seem to come to fruition.
One reaches out and holds onto what is before and all around.
And yet things that seem so corporal,
So physical,
They melt and unravel like phantoms.
Like images in the fog.
And there,
Uncertainty stands.
As if darkness moves over the screen.
And just like shadows over a stage.
Uncertainty washes over us.
Because life loves routine.
Rhythm.
Consistency.
We are subconsciously wired to need to have everything figured out.
To feel safe.
Consider the role our mind plays when confronted with a lack of certainty.
Being uncertain may not need to be a negative thing.
Instead of a fixed,
Rigid mind operated by a set of preconceived ideas.
Our uncertain mind is curious,
Interested,
Reflective,
And malleable.
By approaching life and the people we encounter within it,
With genuine uncertainty,
We can experience it and them as they truly are at that moment.
Our response to life's events becomes calm,
Non-judgmental,
And entirely considered.
Uncertainty inspires us to understand more.
It allows us to embrace new ideas because,
In this very seat,
We are more open-minded,
Detached,
Unbiased.
Each time we stay present with fear and uncertainty,
We are letting go of a habitual way of finding security and comfort.
In the unknown,
We find freedom.
What is your relationship with the uncertain?
What is it about the unknown that makes you feel uncomfortable,
Anxious?
What is it that you're wanting to avoid by attempting to control?
How much power over you do you give to this need to know?
This relationship that can either put us in a state of anxiety and dis-ease,
Or it can release us to our freedom.
Take a few moments here.
Go ahead and take a few easeful and fluid breaths to lend.
As you discover your inhales and exhales,
Feel the lightness of your breath softening you.
Feel your body and your mind unholding.
End this time right now.
Acknowledge that we can't always control things in our life.
Think about allowing,
Releasing the need to control and drop into your being.
Unholding and softening more and more.
Surrendering your desire to have a situation go according to your wishes.
Releasing yourself from the need to know.
Allowing for life to simply unravel itself.
Surrendering all effort.
Surrendering all striving.
Surrendering all sense of doing anything at all.
End this time right now.
There is nothing you need to do.
Unhold your fears and concerns.
Let go of whatever you may be holding onto that triggers fear in you.
Just for now.
Completely and utterly surrender yourself without holding anything back.
Just as though you are allowing yourself to effortlessly swim in the ocean of your internal experience.
End this place of total surrender.
End this place.
There is only love and support.
Only peace and clarity.
Surrender into the reality of the ever new now.
You don't need to be in total control or have everything figured out to flow with this life.
Know that feelings of fear,
Confusion and worry are all part of the human condition.
In the field of uncertainty is where all great potential exists.
Invite it.
Welcome it.
All heartedly.
And reach for it with your arms wide open and let it show you all it has to offer.
Allow it to lead you to places you have never been to before.
Allow it to lead you to challenges that are so needed to grow your heart and mind.
And so that you can trust in the power of your own resiliency.
Adaptation.
Intuition.
And connection to the now as you create your path toward happiness.
Enjoy the beauty of welcoming endless possibilities into your life.
Embrace this uncertainty that is the only constant.
Life's perfect imperfection,
Beautiful in all its glory.
Take a couple of moments here to feel deeply.
Whenever you find yourself overwhelmed with uncertainty.
You know you can always begin again.
Discover your in-breath and out-breath.
And drop into your being.
