Hi,
I'm Jenny Mayo.
Thank you for joining me for this mountain meditation for grounding.
Invite you to find a comfortable position for your body seated or lying down and close the eyes if you like.
Take two deep clearing breaths together just to begin to create a bit of space between whatever came before this and this time right here,
Right now.
Exhaling gently to prepare,
Breathing deeply in through the nose,
Slow sigh out the mouth.
Again,
In through the nose,
Sighing it out,
Following the weight of those exhales down your body,
Noticing all the points of contact you're making with support,
Whatever holds you up.
Just seeing on the next few exhales if you can release any more of your weight into this support,
This rooted base,
Just shifting your attention up slightly to your core,
Feeling your natural inhale and exhale for a few breaths,
Perhaps even feeling it coming deep down into the belly.
Picturing now beautiful,
Majestic mountain of any size,
Anywhere real or imagined.
Allowing yourself to let the visual details swell in your mind now.
It's size,
It's location and surroundings,
A plant or human life on it.
Allowing your other sensory details now to swell,
Noticing any sounds,
Any scents,
Perhaps even feeling some tactile sensations from the rock itself or the life on the mountain.
Taking a moment to merge with this mountain,
Become the mountain.
Our attention focused on the base of the mountain now,
Allowing yourself to feel how profoundly deeply your roots stretch into the earth.
Breathing for a few moments into this deeply rooted place from this incredibly strong,
Stable footing,
Shifting our attention slowly up to your,
To the mountain's core,
Its center.
Sensing into the life and breath here,
Supported by your strong,
Unchanging base.
Anchored deeply in the earth,
Supporting great life,
Shifting our attention up slowly to the peak of the mountain now.
Allowing yourself to look around 360 degrees.
Just take in the environment,
The weather,
Whatever is around,
Whatever is passing by.
And from here,
Remembering that you are the mountain and not the weather.
You are the mountain and not your thoughts.
So staying here for a few more moments,
Just breathing as you watch any thoughts,
Any weather continuing to pass by as you stand in your strong foundation.
Coming back to your breath,
Back to your roots,
Watching the thoughts pass by.
In just a few more breaths here,
Moving towards your deepest,
Fullest breath of the day now,
All the way down into that base,
Gently releasing.
Gradually begin bringing yourself back to your space,
Your room,
Your body,
Wiggling the fingers and the toes,
And then opening the eyes when you're ready.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
May you always remember that you are the mountain,
Not the storm clouds.
