Welcome.
Today's practice will be exploring following our body's natural expression of energy as feminine beings.
It's very nourishing for our bodies to express in ways that feel good to them.
So instead of trying to force ourselves to do a seated stillness meditation or breath work,
Can we invite our body's natural movements into our practice as an expression of our energy in motion,
Our emotion.
So what we'll be exploring today is we'll be doing a breath work practice,
Very simple breathing in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
And as you breathe,
You're just going to allow your body to move in ways that feel good to you and we'll see what happens when you match breath with movement,
With sound.
So beginning here by finding a comfortable seat,
Wherever you are,
Just letting yourself settle in and see as you arrive here,
Does your body want to move in any certain way?
Maybe you want to do some circles with your head or some circles with your spine.
Maybe you want to reach your arms out into the sky,
Into the space around you.
Reaching out,
Stretching wide.
Good.
We're going to begin our breath practice here.
Whenever you're ready,
We'll simply breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Welcome any movements you have to align with your breath.
Here we go.
Breathing all your air out,
We breathe in one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale one,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Breathing in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
You might want to make a sigh.
Breathing in,
Exhale.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Breathing in,
Find space in your chest.
Breathing out,
Find space in your lower back.
Last few breaths here.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
We'll just shift to breathing in and out through the nose.
And perhaps you might find just a sway or some way that your body wants to move here as you breathe in,
Breathe out through your nose.
Perhaps finding some circles through your spine,
Through your shoulders,
Through your jaw.
Just letting your body lead you here.
There's no right or wrong.
The body knows exactly how it needs to express here.
Maybe it's fast.
Maybe it wants to make fast motions,
Side to side,
Or maybe perhaps it's slow.
Or maybe perhaps it's slow,
Slow movements.
Your left ear moving its way towards your shoulder.
And then your right ear finding your way towards your shoulder.
How does the energy that's here want to express itself through your body vessel?
If your upper body feels heavy,
Can you let it hang over?
If your spine feels stuck,
Can you let it curl and then flex and open?
Just see if there are any other movements that want to be made here.
Expressing.
Energy,
Emotion moving through you without thought.
We do not have to understand to let this process happen and unfold.
So if it feels right here,
You might slow your movements down.
And see if it feels right to come to stillness or if you want to keep a gentle,
Subtle sway alive.
Rooted in your body.
Anchored in your breath.
One gentle breath at a time.
And perhaps you come to a place of emptying out.
Where everything has been expressed for now.
And you're just left with a feeling of space.
