A short meditation practice that can be used any time of day, rich in space, quietude and pause, to harness the magic of creative observation, when you are in-between. Clear space when something has ended and the next has not yet begun...to nourish intuition, integration, creative insight, and access the flow of effortless non-doing before doing. Slow down, relax, relieve pressure as you expand your awareness and breathe. Can also be used to flow into a longer, silent meditation, or merge with naptime or sleep.

Transcript

You are about to enter a magical doorway,

The spaces between your breaths.

The spaces between things are full of energy potential and powers of interconnectivity.

When we don't pause or feel into transitions,

It's very easy to leak energy,

And there's no space to make connections.

Resting in your spaces between,

You enlarge awareness,

Possibility,

Creativity,

And integration.

So,

Here you are,

This amazing spirit and soul embodied.

Your breath,

Your heartbeat,

Interwoven with the breath of life and the pulse of the universe.

You are magnificent.

So,

Turn your attention towards this body,

This breath,

Your whole being,

With awe and wonder.

What a beautiful,

Glorious mystery you are.

And in that spirit,

Place your hands on your belly.

Rest attention on the sensations there.

And feel your heart,

Heart as if with nostrils you could breathe into.

And feel the space the heart occupies.

And the space all around the heart.

Become absorbed by the inhale.

Gently released by the exhale.

What do you wish to absorb as you breathe in?

What do you wish to release as you breathe out?

Between this breath and the next,

Feel the space between.

Like a secret passageway,

A magical portal.

Linger a little in those spaces.

Feel how the spaces between breaths are full of life.

A vibration,

A buzz,

A pulse.

If you feel willing,

Invite the sensation to grow.

Feel the glow in the spaces between breaths.

Now feel the feeling of releasing all effort.

Held in a larger field.

The frequency of non-doing.

Those spaces in between: I went into it completely, and I discovered a Buzzzzz, a sensation of either scared or excited, warmth and pregnant silence. Need to unpack the sensation.

one of the most effective open-ended meditations I’ve done on this app. very grateful for the opportunity to practice the mantra “discipline / desire” on the in and out breath respectively. meditation is bullet-time. with this ability, one can observe the formula: thought + emotion = sensation, and begin to decipher why sensations lead to suffering or peace. the path is meant to balance the equation by reminding you that the true value of each thought and emotion can only be discovered through acceptance. grateful for this practice 😌🙏🏾.
