Each one of us has things in our life that we would consider to be obstacles.
I work with clients every day who are feeling as if life is a struggle or life is hard.
But we are here to learn that we are the master of our life.
Quantum physics has shown that each of us is creating our own life.
Life is happening through us,
Not to us.
You might think of it as your life is the movie that you are walking into every day.
And that movie is flowing through the projector,
Which is your physical body.
The layers of consciousness that are flowing through you.
When there is something outside of us that feels like an obstacle,
We can shift the energy and dissolve that obstacle by learning how to come inward.
When we get beneath the story of life and work on the energy,
Things can shift and change rather quickly.
Each of our chakras is a different layer of our consciousness.
And often it's just a matter of waking up the consciousness in different areas of our body so that the energy begins to move more easily.
And as a result,
Life begins to flow more easily.
So let's begin an exercise that can help you to begin to move the energy through your body so that you might see a different response in the movie you are creating.
Begin by sitting comfortably.
Maybe the legs are crossed and you're sitting on the floor.
Or if you're sitting in a chair,
Place your feet on the floor.
Align your spine so that your head is even over your shoulders.
Your shoulders are relaxed.
And settle into this comfortable seat.
Begin to anchor your mind to your breath.
Feel the breath as it moves in and out of your body.
Slowing it down,
Deepening it in an easy,
Comfortable way.
And as you sit,
Eyes closed,
Aware of the body,
Aware of the breath,
Allow an obstacle in your life to come into your mind.
Something that's bothering you,
Something that's holding you back,
Something that you maybe wish were different.
And as you think about this obstacle,
Pay attention and notice any response that you feel in the physical body.
The messages we get from the body are letting us know that these are places within us where we're not fully awake,
Where the energetic circuitry is not hooked up and aligned in a way to cause the movie to have a different effect,
A different outcome.
So without getting into naming any emotion that comes up or any thought,
Just notice any sensation in your body.
You might feel a heaviness in your heart.
Maybe in your solar plexus.
You might feel a tingling feeling or a lightness.
There is not a right or wrong answer.
It's just a matter of noticing.
And as you find this place where you feel some physical response to thinking about that obstacle,
I want you to imagine that you are squeezing this area on the inside.
If it's your heart space,
You might pull the shoulder blades back toward the spine so that it feels as if you're hugging your heart on the inside.
If it's lower in the belly,
You might pull the belly button in and up,
Bringing the awareness to this place where you're creating a bit of a squeeze.
Maybe it's down more in the root and you activate mula bandha.
If it's in the throat,
You might constrict the throat and begin to feel some sound and hear some sound vibration.
Perhaps it's in your mind and rolling the eyes up and feeling a bit of tension behind the eyes brings the awareness there.
Occasionally someone will say when they think about an obstacle in their life,
There is no physical response.
If that's the case,
Ask your mind,
If there was a physical response,
Where do you think it would be?
And let the mind go there.
As you squeeze this place,
This awareness that has come to you in the body,
You're bringing your own resistance into the consciousness,
Into the energy moving through the body.
And as you create resistance within and we will begin to breathe through that resistance in just a moment,
You're clearing the resistance in the movie.
You begin to dissolve the obstacle.
Holding that place where you're feeling the resistance,
Squeezing,
Hugging on the inside as if you're letting it know that you are aware that this is a place that you need more energy.
And then take a breath from above your head,
Breathing down through the central channel of the body,
Breathing down through the brain and into the squeeze,
Wherever it is you are feeling it.
And when you exhale,
Breathe from that squeeze down the channel and into the earth.
Still holding the squeeze,
Breathing from the earth back up into the body.
Exhaling from where you are squeezing up out the top of your head.
Taking another breath in from above,
Following it down the channel,
Being aware into the squeeze and exhaling down the channel and into the earth.
And continue this breath from beyond the body,
Drawing up through the root chakra into the body,
Into the squeeze,
Exhaling up the channel and out the crown.
Continue with this on your own for a few moments.
Keep squeezing,
Creating resistance inside as you consciously bring breath and awareness and energy into that part of the body.
Sitting tall,
Relaxing through the hips,
The shoulders and the face.
Fully aware of your breath as it moves up and down the central channel,
Stopping at that place within you where you are gently squeezing on the inside.
And take one more breath,
Breathing into the squeeze and on the exhale,
Drop it down the channel,
Drop it into the earth.
And then relaxing relaxing,
Relax that squeeze,
Relax the body.
And let your mind go back to that obstacle,
Thinking about it again and noticing if there's a difference in how the body responds when you think about it now.
That area of tightness or response should have softened because you've created the circuitry,
You've drawn more energy,
Awakened that part of your consciousness a little bit more.
This is something you can do over and over.
You might feel it in a different place in the body the next time you think of it.
But each time that you are feeling frustrated,
Wishing something were different in your life,
If you would draw that awareness in and take it to the body and work on the energy beneath the story,
You will see things change so much more easily,
So much more effortlessly.
You are the creator of your life.
Life is happening through you,
Not to you.
